Just wondering if there is a statute of limitations in his state for the prosecution of statutory rape. He needs to get her convicted and get off the hook for this. Plus, she is a pedophile and a child molester, and has no business having a child.

[–]ThirdTurnip 52 points53 points54 points 9 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Arizona has no statute of limitations for rape or sexual assault.

He has to pursue that. Though this story is from 2014 and it doesn't seem like he did.

In Arizona, the Department of Economic Security oversees child--support enforcement. Its written policy is not to exempt situations like Olivas' from child-support responsibilities, unless the parent seeking child support has been found guilty of sexual assault with a minor or sexual assault.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 45 points46 points47 points 9 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

unless the parent seeking child support has been found guilty of sexual assault with a minor or sexual assault.

well, there's his out. He's got a slam dunk "get out of jail free" card. Oops, wait...he's got a penis, so odds of him getting a successful "sexual assault with a minor" conviction against her are zero.

[–]SpaceDog777 15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's America, so they probably would care more about the fact that a minor was drinking.

[–]Gamogi 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not from my experience, at my school people smoke and drink in front of teachers, nobody does anything.

[–]ThirdTurnip 12 points13 points14 points 9 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Looking more closely at Arizona law, sexual assault and sexual conduct with a minor are separate offenses.

Even though he was under age and unable to give consent by most decent peoples' standards, he possibly did under Arizona law in regard to sexual assault.

[–]CurtisAxelmania 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I don't like the implication that someone is indecent if they affirm a male's consent at 14.

[–]ThirdTurnip 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Screw implication. I'll be explicit.

They're a fucking criminal. By Law.

Merry Christmas.

[–]CurtisAxelmania 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, not by law, it is not illegal to state affirmation for the consent of a minor, only to act upon the affirmation.

[–]ThirdTurnip 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She conceived a child by him so we're pretty sure she acted on it.

[–]CurtisAxelmania 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably. Doesnt appear to claim rape.anyway. Was talking about the generalization not the OP.

[–]dukunt 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He could probably get custody of the kid when you look at it that way

[–]HQR3 114 points115 points116 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Notice that USA Today did not give the rapist's name, only the victim.

[–]babyfacelaue 23 points24 points25 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Honestly though...I'd rather not have my name put out that I was a rape victim. I'll tell the people I want to know.

[–]UtahStateAgnostics 52 points53 points54 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's the point. Usually with male-on-female rape accusations, the Rape Shield laws take effect and prevent the media from releasing the victim's name, but they have full rights to drag the accused's name through the mud.

Here we have the opposite thing - putting the victim's name out there and protecting (or at least not making an effort to identify) the rapist. In both cases, it seems it's fine to out the male and protect the female.

[–]babyfacelaue 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I fucking read the comment wrong...fuck me.

[–]azazelcrowley 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's a deeply engrained cultural bias against noticing women behaving badly.

We get tonnes of shit for it. People are in denial and don't like seeing it, especially women. (see the women are wonderful effect.)

[–][deleted] 97 points98 points99 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can tell how much they care about children by how they are treating a child rape victim

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 58 points59 points60 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The "she was hot" female sex predator admirers ignore this type of financial consequence.

[–]twomillcities 34 points35 points36 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What a sick fucking country... I hate Milo but this guy just got alienated for talking about pedophilia. Meanwhile women pull actual pedophilia and they get fucking child support payments.

[–]manicmonkeys 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women Are Wonderful bro.

[–]Taylor1391 25 points26 points27 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The 14 year old IS a child. That judge needs to be impeached.

[–]ThirdTurnip 15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It might not be the judge at fault. I've just spent the past half hour looking at Arizona law.

The problem is the Department of Economic Security Policy which only allow an exemption for victims of sexual assault. If they also exempted victims of sexual conduct with a minor, this guy would be fine.

[–]Mekisteus 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How is it the judge's fault? He didn't write the law. This is on the state legislators.

[–]1paleoman 21 points22 points23 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This makes me want to vomit....

[–]Llamada 15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just lemme give this pedophile a child.....Damn that logic is nowhere

[–]manicmonkeys 15 points16 points17 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the best part. Can you even imagine a universe in which a grown-ass man fucks a young teenager girl, knocks her up, and gets custody of the child and she has to pay him child support?

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You'd have to be a special kind of cruel to do this.

What child? She raped a freaking child and now she forces him to pay for a baby he did not consent to?

What the actual fuck!

[–]awtr50 10 points11 points12 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

FOCUS ON THE CHILD

The child that got raped?

But DES officials said the intent of the rule is to ensure that the child, who had no control over the situation, is cared for.

You mean the child that got raped by a pedophile?

Feit said if the roles were reversed and the woman was the victim, the scenario would be unthinkable.

The idea that a woman would have to send money to a man who raped her is absolutely off-the-charts ridiculous," he said. "It wouldn't be tolerated, and it shouldn't be tolerated."

This.

[–]Wraivyn6 points 9 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

So math this for me: He was 24, finding out he has a 6 year old daughter. 24 - 6 = 18. He was raped at 14.

Did I miss something?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, they said he found out he had a 6 year old 2 years ago.

Math still doesn't check out, but I think we can blame the news.

[–]Mensdouble 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

14+0.75+6+2+a (alpha equals the age in month he was past his 14th birthday). So raped at 14 and unknown number of months, nine month pregnancy, plus a total of eight years, math is just fine.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup, forgot to factor in the 9 months.

[–]Tmomp 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But DES officials said the intent of the rule is to ensure that the child, who had no control over the situation, is cared for.

If you can throw all reason out the window, they should just name Bill Gates as the father and get a lot more money from him.

[–]Brandwein 11 points12 points13 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How about the state pays and is ethical for once. Ah wait, welfare evil.

[–]Smitty1017 14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How about the fucking rapist pays. And goes to jail

"We're trying to keep them off the cash assistance, and we're trying to get back some of the cash assistance money. It benefits everybody at the end of the day."

This guy could have been a guard at Auschwitz.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

make a child pay child support

amazing

[–]Dnile1000BC 9 points10 points11 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where is the regressive left outrage for this actual case of paedophilia and huge damage to a young life?

[–]thrway_1000 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

https://archive.is/MeCVt

[–]Risikabel 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh like they even care about the little girl's well-being. They go after men (and I'm assuming women too, if it's a single father) when the woman tries to get healthcare assistance.

So they'd rather save some coin and ask for child support from someone who was a child themselve and never even knew what had occurred afterwards. They asked him to have a paternity test so clearly they were aware of his age when this happened.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How the hell does a child molester get awarded custody of another child anyway?

[–]mwobuddy 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wait, which child? Bazing!

[–]ehjhockey 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is there any way he can pay the support directly into a trust fund for the child so it can be assured the money will go only to the child?

[–]adave4allreasons 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Judges award child support to limit women/ children on public assistance, because it will impact taxes and their salary base. Simple greed.

[–]fcb98292 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For WHICH child?

[–]homo_moose 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

shits fucked

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Quick question regarding child support... I currently have a case and the department sent a letter to my job demanding I enroll my kid in all coverage available but she already has vision, dental and health insurance through Health Net. Do I have to add her to my policy?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This judge will be impeached , ctfo guys.

[–]Rocko9999 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

1) File rape charges. 2) After that get another attorney and take this to trial.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"The idea that a woman would have to send money to a man who raped her is absolutely off-the-charts ridiculous," he said. "It wouldn't be tolerated, and it shouldn't be tolerated." It is mind bending.

[–]dukunt 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's fucked up!! She should be in jail. If it was a 20 year old guy and a 14 year old girl there'd be now question. Pussy pass allowed.

[–]the_unseen_one 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Funny how the victim has to pay support to the rapist, whereeas if the roles were reversed, the same would not only be unthinkable but a horrid crime against humanity. But "equality" is all that matters, right guys?

[–]PardusXY 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think the consistent stance on this topic is, is the view that "It's for the child" is a pro-life stance because it puts the rights of the child above the rights of a parent.

Now this concept might not sway everyone, I think it's a good way to point out the hypocrisy of the pro-choice but "he chose to have sex" crowd, even tho their views already stinks of hypocrisy when looked at from the standard angle.

[–]crazypants88 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't see how pro life is putting the rights of the child before the rights of the parent. It's just giving both the same rights, meaning protections from being killed.

[–]PardusXY 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Everyone views an issue from a different angle, you are not going to achieve a god damned thing trying to convince people who see things from a different angle with things that make sense to your own worldview.

You have to work a little closer to their worldview.

It's a fool errand to try and change the basis of their fundamental beliefs, but you can work within their own paradigm to alter their views on individual issues.

[–]rg57 -3 points-2 points-1 points 9 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

This is from YEARS ago, and was overturned.

In today's context, it is FAKE NEWS (although the people who told me that were TYT, so...)

link to it being overturned? I am hoping you are right. Cannot find anything recent with google.
