It's because the concept of men helping other men is fucking alien to gynocentrists. They assume we're here arguing for MY rights, instead of MENS rights.

They can only conceive of people being pro-women, or pro-themselves. The notion of male solidarity is alien to them.

While you are allowed to be pro-yourself, that's only until your own interests conflict with being pro-women. If you carry on doing it after that, you're selfish.

Being pro-men because somebody has to be simply doesn't register to them. They are stuck in a gynocentric understanding of the situation.

Me going around talking about domestic violence victims and how it needs to be fucking sorted out isn't going to help me from the past. I have no use of a mens shelter, though I fucking could have used one. It's going to help OTHER men who end up in a situation similar to mine.

That isn't selfishness, and that's the kind of pattern you see repeated across a lot of mens issues. How many of us are seriously going to end up in prison, or commiting suicide? Half? A third? A small minority? Well, we're ALL arguing that men need help with those issues.

So basically, it makes no fucking sense, until you realize these people are gynocentrists. Then it suddenly becomes perfectly clear why they think we are selfish.

A guy abused by his wife, arrested after he called the police, loses his home and access to kids and has no where to turn and then starts advocating against the likes of VAWA is not a selfish cry baby.

Unless women in afghanistan facing similar injustice are selfish cry babies too .

It's a defense mechanism. For all the feminist blathering about patriarchy and male dominance, women subconsciously understand that they would be defenceless against the elements without male strength and provision. When men talk about our problems it is intuited as "weakness," even though it actually takes great strength for men to stand up for ourselves as a sex. The irony, as others have pointed out, is that feminists simultaneously complain that men are not feminine enough. You can see this cognitive dissonance clearly on subs like AMR or SRS: on the one hand they portray MRA's as a dangerous threat, then in the next sentence call us wimpy man-babies.

When I stop seeing countless Facebook posts crying over helpless girls who are not actually in that helpless of situations*, I will stop sympathizing with the sex that gets bashed for all of its perceived power. Maybe the rich kid actually has it pretty fucking bad, and everyone is too busy assuming he is rich because of his name.

Start switching the genders for anything that is gender-related on Facebook or twitter ("all men are animals. some just make better pets," etc.) and you will clearly see a gender empathy gap due to assumptions of (and expectations of) male power. That feminism is smart, progressive, & hot and MRM is regularly misrepresented and spat on (and called whiny exactly as you say) is further illustration of women having the social purpose of wellbeing and men having the social purpose of action. Men are looked down upon when they ask for equal treatment because they are not being used to protect and serve the race (which is propagated through women); therefore equal treatment is not beneficial to our species (or at least it hasn't been for millenia and we're used to it).

I don't have easy answers but it doesn't take many facts at all, like the spending gap, the work injury gap, the suicide gap, and the homelessness gap, to see that men are not an oppressing class as Marxist feminists wish they would be. With all of the insistence that males have power and that females need power, it is no wonder that males are speaking up. When people say call the MRM whiny, it likely means it has just passed by deaf ears. /ableistshitlord

*for example, one I saw yesterday discussed how Josh Duggar's wife is a victim of patriarchy because she probably feels like she can't divorce him and can't raise her kids and she feels powerless as a woman, even though women are statistically speaking less likely to be homeless and more likely to receive social services, and no divorce court judge would cut her a bad deal considering what we all know about her husband

There's an aspect of our cultures "gender mythology" (that is, the set of mutual beliefs our culture holds regarding the mechanics of fun gender) which ascribes onto men something we call "hyperagency"- that is, it is believed that men have much more power, opportunity, and freedom than they actually do. When Men's Rights activists point out examples of why this is not the case, it conflicts with our subconscious understanding of what men are in relation to women. People (feminists) would prefer to explain our concerns away by essentially saying that our complaints are not as valid because nothing that men suffer as a group can ever be worse than what women suffer.

It's a logical fallacy that gets a lot of support and attention because it fits in with the gender model that feminists have constructed.

That being said, it's just rude to mock people trying to make positive change. The "but kids are starving in Africa" logic doesn't really work, Someone in a different or worse situation offers perspective but does jack shit to make any of your problems any better, so you can feel less bad about your situation or you can ignore those people and fix it and feel MUCH better.

You ever notice how we're raised like this from childhood? A girl stubs her toe or skins her knee, everyone is supposed to stop what they're doing to comfort her. A boy does it, and he's told to man up.

A man who complains is considered weak. Shut up and take it is the rule of law, that both men and women use to shame men into silent compliance.

Think about that, though. Silent compliance by being shamed into going along seems a LOT less manly than telling people to fuck off when they call you a crybaby.

Maybe it's because this sub chooses its battles so poorly. The main thrust of the sub seems to be that teen boys are victimized by horrible older women who have sex with them and we have to push for harsher penalties for these women. Because apparently that's the real frontier of men's rights, keeping adult women from sleeping with teen boys, and until that happens, we're all going to whine about how it's not faaaaaaaiiiiiir.

I think they're right.
