I had an artist refuse to give me a tattoo, because it wasn't his style. I was butthurt, but went to another artist, got the tattoo I wanted, and an artist that did 2 more of my tattoos.

Never once did it even enter my mind that my vagina might have been the cause of an artist choosing what style of art he wants to produce. I don't think this lady can be any more self-centered, or inflammatory. Now I'm sad I gave jez my link-click.

She's being a baby and a bully. Her whole article could be summarized as "This guy didn't do what I want, so I'm mad and I'm going to attack him and ridicule him and his friends." Wow, real mature. Is she really an adult or a high school "mean girl"?

His point that she is trivializing feminism is totally on point. If every time some woman doesn't get her way she call it sexism then that just means that sexism becomes acceptable. The real cases of discrimination will be lost in all the noise of crybabies whining because they didn't get what they wanted.

Part of this is the fact that many people who go to get inked don't do any homework.

If you want to get some ink done, then go check out the local scene and check out some artist portfolios and see what they specialize in first. Talk to the artists and find out who they are. Getting ink is a very intimate experience...it's not a "service." It is a bond between the artist and the subject as you become a living canvas for their art. Each tattoo you get is a representation of that artist and it doesn't just tell your story, it tells theirs.

This "Shelby" didn't think about that...she just wanted to get some ink on her neck and felt "entitled" to get what she wanted regardless of the circumstances. And heaven help any person who gets in the way of her getting what she wants because she is going to go out of her way to give that person hell.

This guy showed real class in standing up for his values against this insecure and toxic little twat.

Well done.

What a stand up guy, too. Reading the article I was thinking, "what a complete bitch". Then I read that he doesn't believe in calling women these names. So in an effort to be more like this guy, I too am going to make an effort to not direct these words at women.

This woman sounds like one of the most irritating, entitled, and classless beings on the planet. Ugh.

My tattoo artist friends are appalled by this. Like, "yeah, we're just monkeys doing whatever you tell us", as opposed to artists whos reputations live on on someone else's body.

And also the tattoo she wanted to get SUCKED.

And this argument has zero, nothing, to do with gender. The fact that she tried to whip that out is just gross.

This is the one point of his I disagree with. In a perfect world, no one would insult anyone. However, women call men pigs, dicks, and assholes all the time. No reason I shouldn't be able to return the favour. I don't, typically, but I should have every right to, just as they do.

This "lady" is a special kind of stupid. Talk about blowing something out of proportion. The only thing worse then her inability to "adult" is her use of social media to throw a full on adult tantrum. Tattoo looks about like what you might expect it to, a shitty script neck tattoo like all the others. Edgy.
