The MRM is virtually uniformally pro-LBGT.

I'm a pansexual woman and I've found a place here. There are some assholes who believe that marital rape isn't real and that women are vastly inferior to men and that trans people cannot exist, but they are the very small minority. Just the usual extremists that you find in any movement.

Also, I've never heard anyone say that rape only exists when done to men. If anything, some feminists say that rape can only happen to women.

This means: rather than ask, just read with an open mind what men post here, and try to understand what they're talking about. You'll see that men really have it worse in many respects, and modern feminism is actually a hateful ideology that seeks to hurt men rather than the purported goal of correcting injustices against women.

From what I have seen MRAs do not deny rape at all, they actually want the definition of rape extended to protect everyone. Also since MRAs also try to raise awareness of false rape accusations (these can ruin someone's life) that indirectly protects rape victims since people will be more likely to believe a genuine victim

Firstly, to address your statement in the title, I think I speak for most of us when I say:

Meh.

You'll find that at large, we don't care that you're biracial, pansexual, young, or a woman. Irrelevant. We discuss issues that affect men, everything else is outside our scope. Are you here to discuss issues that affect men? You'll be welcomed. Are you here to discuss issues that affect biracial pansexual young women? Well, we're not going to have much to discuss unless your experience of being that conglomeration somehow impacts men.

We're not like feminists, claiming to represent and speak for every group under the sun whether gay, trans, minority, or red-nosed reindeer. Like Women's Rights for women, LGBT Rights for LGBTs, Black Rights for blacks, we're specialized.

That isn't to say that we ignore or don't care about those issues, but that they're not where we focus our advocacy specifically as MRAs.

As a semantic point, not a criticism, the MRA is not an organization. The MRM (or MHRM) is, but MRAs are members of that organization, not the actual organization itself. You'd be amazed at how often that comes up, mostly from neophytes who've never heard of us before. Comparatively, it'd be like me asking "Is Feminists an organization I should fear?"

To address the body of your question... "there is no such thing as rape unless the victim is male" is not something anyone within our movement has ever said, to the best of my knowledge. Technically speaking, it's certainly possible a loon flew the nest and squawked that bullshit, but almost infinitely more likely, we're being projected slung mud again.

Easy way to check: Is there a group out there that believes or acts upon (whether implicitly or explicitly) the assumption that only one sex / gender can be raped? Say, through "Teach Men Not to Rape" campaigns and intentionally misleading / ommissive statistics such as the "1 in 5 women" myth? Are they the ones who told you that MRAs are the group who believes that only one sex can be raped? I rest my case.

With the exception of outliers that prove the rule, nobody here believes that only men can be raped, or that rape doesn't exist.

You'll find that the most controversial view we tend to have on that topic is in fact the opposite, that a man made to have nonconsensual sex with a woman should be counted as a rape victim, not ignored as someone "forced to penetrate / other sexual violence." And when you include "forced to penetrate" alongside "forcibly penetrated", those numbers side-by-side indicate that men are raped by women at least as frequently as women are raped by men (more when you include prison rape and statutory rape, or include data from entire countries such as the UK that define away male rape victims almost entirely by making rape a crime committed "with his penis?")

And we want to do something about that. Secure resources for male victims, raise awareness of male victimization, provide help to those male victims. That is the truth of this organization.

Now ask yourself, should you fear the people who stand against that, and insist that our showing support to males means that we only believe males can be victims, that claim the resources we ask for for men is taking them away from women and thus proves that we believe women victims don't matter?

I look forward to that answer.

The main reason why I asked my question is because I couldn't find a good source that was not negative. All the sources I was pulling up was about the founder being a dead beat dad or scam artist, about rape doesnt exsist, white men with insecurties and nothing better to do, etc. I came here to ask the men and women of this subreddit what is the truth to this organization; when I say 'fear', I mean weary. I should have used weary instead. I was confused if whether the organization was anti-woman, a racist group; in other words, a hate group.

I'd like to thank the redditor that gave me links to look into; links I couldnt find at the surface of my Google search. All of you have really gone into detail of this organization and this group is just a group that seeks awareness and equality as well. Thank you :-)

There is no "organization", men's rights movement isn't nearly homogeneous either. So you will probably find some people here that are idiots, but most aren't. There are no particular ideologies associated with men's rights.

Most people here are just men that experienced injustice and/or discrimination in various key topics (e.g. marriage, custody, work, circumcision) and they want to discuss and fight it.

First of all, I've never seen anyone here say that there is no such thing as rape, and if they did, they're an idiot.

We pretty uniformly support LGBT issues (worth noting that we do not have the same history of homophobia and transphobia of the feminist community) and we by and large support the idea of equality and even womens rights (though it's not our focus). on the topic of womens rights we just don't see how, in a world women in some countries are categorically prevented from driving, let alone holding positions of power, western feminists feel the need to browbeat western men over "man spreading" and "mansplaining" and the insistence that the due process rights (a basic human right) of men accused of sexual assault must be ignored, while simultaneously insisting that the legal definitions of rape categorically preclude female rapists. for these extremely valid criticisms, we've been widely painted as misogynistic monsters.

Who made such a claim? Please be aware that there are many, many lies and myths spread by vitriolic feminists. Don't believe anything unless you can find solid research to back it up. No matter where you are, if anyone gets angry at you for questioning a claim, know that they are trying to control you. If you want to know about us, take some time and do some research. You have to put the effort forth to make an informed decision for yourself.

I mean it's a very curious thing to say (working as I am right now on the assumption that you're genuine and not a troll). Consider for a moment the idea that 'fear' of someone else (or fear of the 'Other' as its sometimes fashionable to say) is generally reciprocal sentiment. For you to make a statement that there is a possibility that you should fear people on this reddit (not all of whom consider themselves to be MRAs, including myself I might add) implies that they might have cause to fear you in turn - but why would you think that at all?

How would you imagine that your ethnicity or your sexuality could possibly influence one way or another the discrimination men often face in divorce settlements and child custody issues, in the not infrequent presumptions of guilt when they are accused of sexual assault, all women short-lists for political candidates (in cases where the party's central office impose a female candidate onto local activists who might have wanted or expected another candidate who had in this case the misfortune of being a man) and a number of other issues that I can't in any way imagine possibly relating to or even touching in anyway the description of yourself as 'biracial' or 'pansexual'? I just don't get at all why you would think those issues would affect you at all let alone be something you might have cause to 'fear'.
