George Will's article was shitty. His writing is poorly articulated, his analogies are broken, and his arguments are scatterbrained and erratic. When push comes to shove, it was a shitty piece, and I get why it caught so much flak.

But that doesn't mean we should dismiss the greater issue here:

Why the fuck are we not handling criminals accusations in the criminal justice system?

The sheer insanity of relying on a handful of unqualified college employees to do the jobs of judges, detectives, police and juries is mind boggling. Would we rely on a college tribunal to handle it if a student was murdered? Is rape not serious enough to be taken to the police when it happens to students? If you are raped in college, shouldn't your rapist stand before a judge, and go to jail if found guilty?

Both the accused and the accuse have rights we are supposed to stand up for - and this system of reckless tribunals circumventing the law flys in the face if that. This is unconstitutional, this is unjust, and this is unfair to everyone.

What is up with the left in the past year or two going on a crusade to make people lose their jobs for what amounts to nothing more then thought crime. If you compare to history, this is starting to put McCarthy to shame. I mean that as an honest question if one of y'all could explain it. Every week we see this.

I think we can safely conclude that Chaudhary and Lee don't believe in the meaningful kind of free speech. Certainly, the demand to fire George Will and otherwise pressure the Washington Post is punitive and calculated to enforce conformity of thought on a difficult and contentious topic, not promote understanding. And when the common response to disagreeable opinions becomes political organizers unleashing social media lynch mobs, it opens a backdoor to total oppression.

This sums it up perfectly. It is interesting how people are often for free speech when they feel they are being silenced, but try to stifle it when they hear a differing opinion.

Isn't firing someone for writing an article unconstitutional and violates the human rights? (he is not threatening anyone, or harassing anyone with his opinions, which means that he is purely expressing free speech)

The problem is that, any good points Geroge Will might have made are drowned out because he, at the very least, wrote other things that could be construed as offensive. Did he need to say victimhood was a "privileged status"? No, not to make his point. Should he have known that this unnecessary and false point would have drowned out the rest of his article? Yes.

Its no coincidence that virtually all the links are from conservative sites, and all the people doing the bad things are progressives. It should make you take a step back and actually examine what that party stands for. I'm not trying to tout the republicans as a better alternative, but stuff like this must make you accept that the democrats are so full of shit their eyes are brown.

It only seems like an epidemic because it's all feminists talk about 24/7. Before I started frequenting this subreddit I rarely heard about any rape cases, now I hear about rape constantly but mostly just feminists arguing that anyone who doesn't want anyone accused of raping jailed for life with no trial is a misogynistic rape apologist.
