I’m 27 and my STBXW is 28. We were high school sweet hearts, have been together for 13 years, and married for 4.

I recently returned from a year long deployment which was the last thing I had to do before leaving the army.

She supported me fully over the entire deployment, but took it rough. She was depressed and turned to partying with her 21 year old co-workers until I returned.

Once I returned there was a short honey moon phase and then she turned back to partying every night and being distant in our marriage.

Despite this, she convinced me to sell our house and put a bid down on her “dream house”.

One week before our house was sold she informed me she had been having an affair with a 21 year old female co-worker for the past 6 weeks. She quickly filed for divorce.

The home has now been sold and everything is split. She has moved in with her girlfriend and left a wake of destruction in our lives.

She is adamant she does not want to be with me, isn’t in love with me, and wants an independent life. She is also adamant she is now gay and in love.

She has never shown any attraction to women and this is all out of the blue. My only saving grace is I get to walk away with most of the financial assets and we have no kids.

I understand I have to move on with my life, but I still love her. The hardest part is acting like I don’t and treating her like a failed business partner.

I plan to go to therapy to hopefully trust women again and feel that I deserve love. This all happened so quick and was so random after a happy 13 years.
