I’m at angry and bitter stage with periods of extreme sadness, so bear with my enjoyment of her misery.

Back in July of this year she said she wanted a divorce and hasn’t loved me for 2 years. We have 2 young kids and while our marriage has been rocky I thought we were both moving in the right direction. We were happier, improving ourselves and building our family and future.

Anyways our pay differences were pretty big at this time. She was making about 74k and I was making 120k. Her 3rd marriage mom must have been telling her about all the child support and alimony she would get because she kept saying she was just going to talk to a divorce attorney to learn her “options”.

Well there was an honest mistake on my part where I used a bad child support calculator and thought I was going to owe her like $1500 a month. After she talked to her lawyer and found out that it was only $250 a month and no alimony she actually had the balls to try and convince me to pay her more money voluntarily so that she could keep the house and continue living the life I provided. Obviously I LMFAO at that request.

Shortly after that she got like an 11k salary raise and I lost my job(company went under). Keep in mind I have no student loans or other dept, even my car is paid off. She on the other hand has almost 100k in student loans. I’m also frugal and smart with money and she’s the dumbass who thinks a 60 dollar bottle of wine is way better than a 20 dollar.

I’ve been a network engineer for 15 years and was high up, my last position I designed and built a 10Gbps Fiber to home ISP from the ground up. I was underpaid there but took stock options over salary. Had we stayed married I would have easily topped out close to 200k in the next 5 years, but honestly I was getting bored of my work and field. I kept doing it for the family and knowing I’d even indirectly have to help pay off her student loans.

So when a job opportunity came along to change fields into software development I happily accepted the 80k a year salary! Besides salary the position has amazing benefits, zero cost health insurance being the big one and a very generous 401k match.

After accepting the job I casually mentioned to my stbxw that she is now the high earner in the family and when we divorce will have to pay me child support! Lmao the look on her face.

She was so sure that divorcing me meant child support and alimony to keep the house and live the life I gave her. Now she is the one sleeping in the basement and looking for apartments next month and depending on how civil things go, paying me child support while I continue living in our house.
