Question. Are petty contempt charges from the wife and asking for things ( such as income that does not and never existed ) par for the course in a divorce ? Should I be surprised that her lawyer if filing stupid motions ? It seems to me that instead of advising my wife he is simply filing whatever she says to. Is this how lawyers make the big bucks ? I'm just kind of surprised how petty things are getting. Example. I remove some clothes from the current residence ( unfortunately we are still under the same roof for now ) and she files contempt but her son recently moved out and filled a U Haul full of stuff and left. I don't know if she removed some of our stuff with his so that I think is a violation of the court order. It's almost that she wants to drown us in petty BS which is stupid because I can outspend her if necessary but even I know that a 20,000 dollar divorce is the same as a 5,000 divorce . The only difference is the lawyers get an extra vacation !!!!
