Depends on on state. In WA once I filed that locked I'm all the assets a s debts. I could buy a new car in my name and it would be mine, BUT I couldn't use command assets to purchase it.

Since I was the only one working I opened a new bank account, had my money deposited there, and transfered every paycheck the money for the house and her (had moved out). I had every clear division of my income and our assets/debts.

She actually fucked up but taking over $30k out of the joint accounts and had to payback $23k of that at final settlement.

So talk to your attorney, ask what's typical in your state, and go from there.

Do you have an agreement in place regarding disposal of income? For example, I can't change beneficiaries on accounts and insurance, can perform reasonable spending for maintaining quality of life, but can't make large purchases or dispose of property.

If you live in the same house then yes its a problem. If you live separately and youre paying child support, there is no reason for anyone to escallate or hear this. Its the equivalent of you complaining she spends a full quarter of your child support on hair and nails and another quarter on fastfood. Really nobody cares. The judge will hear and disregard it so that both lawyers will get paid and no other reason. Remember that

Most divorce filings will include an order on what marital funds can or can't be used for while the case works its way to finality. Never hide money, if discovered, that is a big negative for you. With that said, $2000 spent within the scope of what is reasonable within the order, is permissible. Such as lawyers fees, credit card balances, car loans, marital standard of living.
