Many women prefer men who are slightly taller than they are. (The average woman is around 5'4", vs 5'9" for men, so this preference doesn't amount to a huge impediment.) Many others don't care. A minority of women who are extremely looks-oriented may specifically prefer tall men.

I suspect that some men use being short as a comforting excuse for their lack of dating success that is outside of their control and therefore not really their 'fault'. If all of their problems can be blamed on their height, they don't have to consider that maybe they have other flaws and there's something they could improve.

Women here. I've met short men where i said damn he is hot, and met taller and didn't feel anything. So a man can have all the characteristics that red pill guys deem attractive to our eyes and still won't do it for a lot of women.

Personally I find tall men to be more generally attractive, and have dated a few, but am currently obsessed with a 5'9" man and was absolutely devastated when my 5'4" bf dumped me a decade ago so like, yes there's a general preference but love and attraction is far more complex and mystical than all that.

I saw that article saying height is a consistent factor in success. But then the average gap between a male and female partner is also quite within average.

It really depends what you mean by "article" which I think underlines the true issue: ask yourself if you are critically consuming media and whether you understand the information and data in front of you.

If an "article" is just an opinion piece by a random person then yeah you need to be asking why they wrote the piece and who their target audience is. If someone earns money by "coaching" lonely men, obviously he is going to play up the need to pay for his services or consume his content, for example.

If you are talking about actual studies that incels trot out to back their worldview, you need to know how to actually interpret academic research. For example, lots of the research I've seen has almost exclusively been about whether women prefer a partner taller than them and how the man-taller preference translates to real life. None of the data I have seen actually suggests women exclusively date "tall" men but rather that there is a general preference for men taller than them and that that translates to an average height difference of 5-6 inches with male-taller being the majority of hetero relationship outcomes. All of this makes sense if you live in reality because most men aren't tall and most men date so obviously women are dating average or below average height men. Couple that with men being on average taller than women, you get a height difference of a few inches that easily incorporates average and below average height men.

I also see some looseness around the language. Do women trend towards preferring taller men? Yes the data seems to back that up. Does that trend in PREFERENCE mean that women will only date men over 6 feet tall? No, the data does not remotely back that up. So you need to be more precise in what hypothesis you are trying to prove with the data. They will take the exact same data I referenced in my third paragraph and say "women date men taller than them so it's over for manlets" without taking into account the actual data or the actual average heights of men and women. Good faith or emotional ignorance or intentional manipulation, the language around the data gets warped to imply it is proving a point it's not actually proving at all.

If you don't understand how to interpret statistical data then stop trying until you do. Trying to do it on your own just leads to misinterpreting data after filtering it through your emotions which is what most data shared in incel circles amounts to.

They're absolutely exaggerated yes. There is, perhaps, a slight preference for taller men, but typically height isn't as important as many other things. All aspects of looks can have some influence; height, weight, nice smile, nice face, whatever. But it's evident if you actually talk to women, that how they value a man and consider him for dating is much more than appearances. Being a nice person, someone who's trustworthy, someone who she feels safe around, someone interesting, funny, generally giving off positive vibes and being enjoyable to be around, all of this plays a huge part in what women think of a guy.

In fact, even if you ask women what they actually find attractive physically, it is so broad and varied, just as it is with men. Men might generally have a preference for slim women, but plenty of men also like curvy/chubby women. Women might like taller men, but plenty will also be into shorter men. Some like skinny guys, some like muscular guys, some like chubby guys, some like beards and some like a clean shave.

And that's the thing, often these articles about how women don't want to date shorter men - along with basically all the red pill content out there - is written by men. It's men telling other men how women think. And then women are repeatedly saying "no, that's not right". If you want to know what women are attracted to and how women think, listen to women. Not men, not "studies", or whatever else. Just listen to women.

I mean I would just disregard it unless you're just looking for a partner based on looks. some women want a guy tall enough to reach shelves she can't, some want a roger to their jessica rabbit who might be more charming in social situations, but most women will stick to that one type consistently.

I'm having trouble describing this I think but the gist is while many women want one specific thing, there are probably just as many single minded freaks for men with a specific personality or physical characteristic that's outside that one specific thing, and in my experience the latter can be much more interesting and compelling to have in your life than the former.

Woman here. My ex was an inch shorter than me, his height never bothered me in the slightest. What bothered me was the gaslighting and emotional abuse. My husband is taller than me but there is none of that emotional abuse going on. I don’t know if ‘short guy syndrome’ is a real thing but the key point is that if a short guy is having little success with women, it most likely isn’t because of his height.

But does that mean no one finds any woman with small or average sized boobs attractive? Do women with small or average sized boobs create all this pill shit and talk like they are doomed because of their boobs? That's a ridiculous idea, no?

The issue is people who use these things to prey on insecurities and sell nonsense ideologies to people. You can find someone who finds you attractive if you're a short or average height man. You can find someone who finds you attractive if you have small or average size boobs.

I think it depends on the type of women you are interested in.

Shallow women are more likely to care about superficial things like status, money, height, etc……. But generally, those aren’t good partners, long term, and they don’t accurately represent the majority of women.

Women who have more principles and general emotional maturity won’t usually care much about superficial traits and characteristics, that cannot be changed, like height.

They care much more about your effort, whether or not you take care of yourself / hygiene, if you can make them laugh, your long term goals, whether your core values are compatible, and etc………

You also have to keep in mind that the majority of women are roughly ~5’2”-5’6,” in western countries, so finding guys who are taller than them is still relatively easy since the average height for guys in western countries is usually roughly ~5’7”-5’11.”

Even if you are only 5’5,” if you go somewhere like Japan, the average height for women essentially drops to roughly 4’11-5’3. So you would actually be average height and nobody would care.

In my experience, it’s more often guys who might dismiss an otherwise gorgeous woman because she is an inch or 2 taller than he is.

Which I think is ridiculous cuz if she is absolutely beautiful then I think guys who are “unwilling to climb that tree” are utterly braindead and should really work on their self-esteem and sense of self-worth!

I have actually known at least a few tall women who were incredibly lovely, who got overlooked, more than once, because of their height! It definitely wasn’t unusual for them to have a crush on a guy who was a lil bit shorter than they were.

One of the couples whom I have know the longest have been married for going on almost 40 years now while the lady is like 5’7”-5’9,” while her husband is like 5’4”-5’6.” They had two kids who are about the same age as me and they are still happily married cuz he has always known how to make his wife laugh.

I have always been fine with a guy being roughly the same height as me, and that’s incredibly easy cuz I am only 5’2.” The guy I am married to is the definition of “average height,” at 5’9” and I am still way more attracted to him than I am to anyone else. A more important question to ask yourself is “would I be comfortable dating a girl who is roughly 1-3 inches taller than me?!?”

If your answer is “yes,” then you might actually want to start inviting more tall girls on dates. You could find a great connection with someone who finds you attractive, exactly as you are, and that’s a good feeling!

If the answer is “No,” then you need to go back to the drawing board and ask yourself “why am I not attracted to tall girls?!?”

I'm 5'5", I don't date anyone too much over 5'10" because it's uncomfortable to crane my neck, and I don't enjoy being armpit height to them. My ex-husband (married 20 years) was 5'6". As long as I can still wear heels if I want to, I'm not too concerned about height.

If you ask many women, they will say they would only dat 6' tall men. But if Tom Cruise comes by they will still swoon. There is a difference between stated preference, and reality. The problem is that most of the information that red pill sites are going by is stated preference.

This is only anecdotal. But for what it's worth, I'm 5'2" and it's a common height for women. I don't even know any adult men who are shorter than me.

Dating guys who are taller is not my preference. It's simply that literally every man I know is at least my height.

I think its highly exaggerated. Yes a lot of us think tall men are attractive but I have never a woman who said under 6' was a deal breaker. I love tall guys and one of my longest relationships was with a guy who was 5'5 🤷‍♀️
