Why does RP focus so much on hypergamy? What's the point of emphasizing this?

Dude... literally same. But I just see how flawed that logic is now when I think about my daughter's mother who left me to be with a guy who made maybe half of what I made, was maybe a 2 out of 10 while I not to sound too arrogant but I'd like to think I'm around an 8 or so when it comes to looks. I work out and take care of myself and am well groomed while the guy she left me for is the total opposite. I have a brand new 2021 car while he drives beaters. If someone is gonna cheat, they're gonna cheat because they're a shit person. Has nothing to do with hypergamy or gender. In most cases they downgrade.

Because the concept of hypergamy gives them a basis for how to strategize to be more attractive to women.

Inexperienced guys just want to know what they need to do to date women. Ideally, they want women who are much more attractive than them. It is very appealing when someone says here are some rules to follow and it will get you what you desperately want.

Because men want to be attractive to women. That's it. The anxiety and agony over this concept comes from a place of raw insecurity. Men want to be a good catch, they want to be good enough, they want to be someone that at least some women desire on a raw and intimate level. The fear is that one isn't good enough, that a better option than them always exists, and that women either simply don't want them, or their partner will always wish he had something he didn't, i.e. that he was taller. Its painful to think that, and honestly as someone who's been there, I tend to be more empathetic towards it than anything. I'm not even sure how to get over it myself, if I'm honest.

Because a lot of them have failed relationships or no relationships in their pasts, and instead of taking responsibility for their part in this, they have built up ridiculous theories that put all of the blame on women's biology, thus never having to self-reflect.

I would reckon it’s probably due to a lot of men being the victims of cheating women. Women often cheat to trade up, and those victimized men aren’t going to disappear.

They join red pill communities and vent about the reasons women hurt them.

Honestly, I can empathize a lot with how they feel. It must be rough to be with someone you thought was going to be your forever partner and wife only to have her bail on you for someone who makes more money or who is taller.

I imagine those emotions are hard to process, so they just double down on what they know — being angry.

Hypergamy is both practiced by men and women, sometimes. But it's safe to say that there are other factors that drive it. Greed, self esteem issues, pride, a need to feel dominated, a need to dominate. The issues stem in the mind that forces an individual to think for sure. But hypergamy isn't biological. In evolution people look for strong and unique traits to increase genetic variation. A bunch of blonde chads isn't genetic variation. So it's safe to say that biology has nothing to do with it. It's how you were socialized and your parents who influence your behavior.

I think it's reasonable to say that hypergamy is a pragmatic choice of dating that can make you seem like you are better than the people around you and has more room to be objectify others. Hypergamy tends to either stem from a place of entitlement or insecurity in one's self worth.
