Oh my god this woman is so right. I only found out about Roblox when my little brother (very young at the time) got a virus on my mother's computer with it. Did a little digging and the amount of crap people do on Roblox is truly concerning. We did forbid him, but he kept going back so I finally sat down with him and had a Chris Hansen moment with him.

Honestly, banning or limiting online exposure isn’t going to be a very effective means of protecting your younger family members. They’re much more internet savvy than you could imagine and they will find a way because all they have is time and motivation. The best option is to start having conversations about what to watch out for online, what a groomer might look/sound/act like, what their boundaries should be when interacting with strangers online, and how to protect their personal info. Knowledge is power

Yeah, we already have those conversations with them, and of course their parents do with them as well. I just recall from my own experience on the internet that even though my parents had those kinds of conversations with me as well when I was a kid, I still found myself talking to adults online. I thought I was different and those warnings didn't apply to me because I was "mature" for my age and some other BS things the adults online fed to me.

I had the same experience, but no one ever told me that they would bait me with the “you’re so mature for your age”, that was something I learned on my own. I earnestly believe that if you give them examples of real groomers (like on creepy PMs) they’ll start to understand what to look for before it happens.
