Big mood.
I got a Google calendar notification that my ex had deleted the wedding date off his calendar. I might throw a bullet dodging party.

Do it! Celebrate your freedom, girl!

A bullet dodging party...I like ring of it. We should have posts devoted to just that. Say what you drank and ate, the music you listened to, if you ate ice cream while in the tub or went for a massage.

This is it right here. I can look back at every ex I was nuts over when I was younger, and I shudder to think how miserable I’d be now if it hadn’t ended.
One ex in particular, he’s truly a wonderful person - but I’m so thankful we didn’t work out, he’s too hippy dippy for me; after I dumped him, he went and found himself a hippy dippy woman and they’re living in hippy dippy bliss.

It's absolutely insane what love bombing can do to your head! I was manipulated and love bombed by a NVM and grew attached; in hindsight it was a trauma bond. I'm thankful I dogded a bullet because:
And 10000000+ more red flags. I thought that if I cOmMunIcAtEd with him, it would get better. It was pretty much a situationship built on manipulation and lies.
He is literally disappointment personified. The epitome of the bar being set so low that it's in the inner depths of hell. Bless the higher power above because I blocked and deleted him from my life. No thank you, satan.

Legit same thing happened to me. I'm with you sista. So grateful we got out!

Sad thing is that I know he's doing the same thing to other women. It's like he gets off on trying to woo as many women as possible. He's a predator.

Oh for sure. They don't change. The NVM of my past is now dating a 20 year old and he's 28..... They just move on to prey that doesn't see their BS until it's likely too late for her.

Damn right! A few years ago, I was really convinced I wanted to support a stay-at-home husband. That I'll work hard and he'll appreciate it of me, he'll keep a clean house, cook yummy meals and raise our children right. As if any man could actually do that without secretly resenting me for being the breadwinner, feeling 'emasculated', doing a half-assed job at homemaking and parenting, and then ultimatum cheat on me with someone he can afford to impress, on my money. You can even find a post I made about in my history, so emberassing lol
What the hell I was thinking..

Never ever even consider such a thing. I am telling from my personal experience of coming across a stay-at-home dad. Met him at a volunteering group. He made such a big deal out of supporting his working wife and being liberal, feminist, blah blah. Even introduced his wife and kids to us. Then, started the harassment. He started following me on my social media, liking and complimenting my looks. Calling me and trying to impress me with his "connections". I finally had to stop taking his calls and tell him that I am changing my mobile number to make him stop calling me.

Don’t be embarrassed. I bet many of us would be okay with a stay at home PROVIDED he’s a great homemaker/father. They are just not that great at it. I’ve thrown away this idea because of the exact statement you made.

Sounds like you’re looking for my father but unfortunately, he’s married to a woman who doesn’t appreciate him...

Every single day I'm so glad things didn't work out how I once wanted them to!!!

At the end of the day I am glad I didn’t end up with any of my exes, either. It just took a while for my emotions to catch up to it when it happened (with the exception of my most recent ex... I was left emotionally drained so I didn’t care anymore). They were all losers. I had a pretty strong Loser Picker (TM) for a solid 10 years. Maybe they’ve gotten better, idk. Good thing is they are blocked and I don’t care to see or know them anymore. I don’t know that version of me anymore.

After my first break-up, I remember crying every so often about how long I had been single (8 months, 1 year, then 1.5 years), it would really wear me down. Finally, I was in another relationship, but this guy ended up being worse than the first (and he seemed so perfect in the beginning - they always do I guess). Anyway, someone recently asked me how long it's been since my last relationship, and here I am doing the math seeing that it hasn't even been 1 year yet! I actually want it to be longer because I just want to be even more disconnected to my pick-me past and that LVM lol. I cannot believe I used to fret about being single for a few months. I am loving it and don't even want a man at all right now!

If I had been married like I so badly wanted to be, I would owe him alimony rn. 🙏

I don't really blame my younger self and to be honest I never got too attached to any guy because I always knew inside me that they weren't right for me. But I was surrounded by low quality guys. No matter whom I would date, everyone around me (especially other guys) would laugh and make fun saying "you could have done so much better". I knew that but there really weren't many good options around growing up in not so affluent area in a poverty-ridden country and no dating apps and internet around.

Praise the Lord because I probably would’ve spiralled into a depression. Thank God for intuition and the gut feeling!

God yes. And what's more, my former self being upset over "losing" these no value exes, when I can now see that they were lucky I even allowed them into my life. I sometimes have nightmares in which I am back with them, and even unconscious, there is part of my brain going "What the fuck are you doing? Why are you with them again?"
I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and tell her....

I have a quote in the middle of my back. It says: “ I don’t need you to hold me, I can hold my own.”
