In my ex marriage, yeah, a lot.

In my relationship now? Never. He never expects me to be in a good mood when I have a bunch of stress or if I'm hurt by something. He'll ask me what's wrong, he'll talk about it, and if it's something he has no control over he just says "I know... poor girl" and hugs me.

The amount of times I asked my ex to just listen to me and say he understood, he rarely ever did. But I didn't have to tell my partner to do that, he just does it.

If it's something he did that upset me, occasionally he'll get a bit defensive but he's always willing to talk about it and give me a chance to express why it hurt. 99% of the time, he will then realise and apologize. We will then talk about ways to fix it.
