The biggest thing that gets me is he doesn't think it's safe to eat in a restaurant...and yet he is comfortable being in a car with a stranger........... ....... ........ Does he know how covid spreads? Because I'm pretty sure we should all know by now.
Had a guy pull this on me too yesterday. "Oh I don't feel comfortable going out yet, but you can come over to my place for Netflix! I promise I don't have covid!" that shit made me rage! Insta blocked.

yeah i was thinking that too. A restaurant would give us more space to sit apart and a lot of restaurants have incredible COVID precautions.

In my city covid is thankfully more or less under control and going to restaurants (outdoors) has become a normal part of life again for a while now. I had a guy on Hinge say he wishes he could take me to a restaurant. I said, uh, you can? I just went to one yesterday? And he said that sitting outside on the street ruins the ambiance or something. All I heard was "I'm too cheap to buy you a meal."
I just stopped responding even though he was pestering me for my number. I knew his next suggestion would be a park date, car date, or at home date so he can try and date rape me.

Also this is super common, they want you to plan the date everytime.
This happens to me all the time. "Would you like to go on a date" I say yes then they Got Nothin.
They act so dumb yet they are actually playing it smart by not planning the date knowing we will have an obligation to pay for ourselves if we suggest something. Cheapskate tactics.
It isnt even about the money either, it's about how they value you and spending time with you.

Honestly this is why we should all just hold off on dating until the pandemic slows down and it’s safer to eat at restaurants. These LVM are taking this opportunity to take us on low effort dates where they don’t have to spend any money because they think we won’t complain since things are shut down/unsafe. Walk in the park? Not a date. Going for a drive? Not a date. There really is just no way to date safely while maintaining our standards right now!

There are ways to show that you want to impress someone without taking them to a restaurant. Romantic picnic with take out from a local restaurant and a nice bottle of wine. Rent a boat and go jet skiing. Helicopter ride . Rent a canoe. Wine tour. Zoo. All these things allow you to avoid groups of people, but show effort, financial investment, and can be pretty interesting.

Backstory: He asked me on Friday if I was free Sun or Mon, which I said nah cuz it was so last minute and I told him I was free on Thursday (yea tomorrow). USUALLY instead I say, "what do you have in mind" before I even agree to a date but it totally slipped my mind b/c i was so excited to see him.
He's STILL trying to plan a date but he's not even talking about anything concrete. I just told him that we can push it back until he has something real in mind. I'm not into ifs and maybes.

No offense but I don’t get how people are actually dating during covid. Like you can’t really go to restaurants , I wouldn’t even dare try. And you have to wear masks. Home dates and car dates are out of the question. Park dates now too. What’s the point of dating lol? I haven’t taken any guy seriously since the pandemic began.
