This is bare minimum and I will get flak for supporting him but about time we start seeing more Desi men doing this - in real life too not just Reels and TikTok.

This Pakistani guy is setting an example at least for patriarchy ridden South Asian men. Seriously, our men need to learn a LOT. It's like teaching alphabet to a baby.

Yes, it is bare minimum and yes we can wonder all we want why we need a guy to say this out loud, but at least it's a start for Desi diaspora. Otherwise, we do not even see conversations like this happening in Desi circles.

I think it's so sad that a man treating you with some kindness and respect, ie treating you like a human being, is often applauded, because so many men will literally treat you like shit. Like so many men do not even do bare minimum. It's so unfair how the standards are so low for men.

I won't praise him because what he said is basic human decency but he isn't wrong. We can't normalise men for being faithful, being clean, taking care of themselves, being invested fathers if we glorify it. I personally don't. When a guy tries to self-praise implicitely by proving how much he respects women as human beings or would never assault a woman or is faithful to his gf. I always have a "as you should" attitude. Nope you arent going to be praised for something that is expected, that should be normal no sir.
