I remember this movie. It's a shame that she says this only to sleep with him hours later and then doesn't see him again until years later where he cheats on his wife while seeing her. I don't really find any of it romantic. I did totally hate watch it because it's full of dialogue ;)

Fun fact, in France the first magazine regarding women rights was indeed done by a man, Leon Richer. He found it astounding that half the population of the country was treated worse than (sorry for this) sl*ves and weren't literate. He advocated for equal pay, equal opportunities in education and lowering prostitution rates. And even feminists like Simone de Beauvoir acknowledged him as one of the "fathers of feminism". Just to say that feminism is at it's core against sexual exploitation of women. I guess later on perverts managed to discredit the movement by adding what is said in the picture.

From my understanding there were two strand of the sexual liberation movement. One was feminist, and the other was Playboy, which discouraged any sexual images of women where they look mature, intelligent, elegant, mysterious, powerful, etc (Gloria Steinem was a playboy bunny for a bit/ waitress, not pinup- and wrote about it). And then, blah blah brainwash, we get “Legally Blonde.”
