When I first started dating the man I'm currently seeing, he didn't text often. After a few dates, this came to bother me, and I expressed that to him. He really was not much of a texter. But when I told him what I needed, he apologized and he got better. He took my request seriously the first time. No excuses, no forgetting, no complaining.

Contrast this with my last relationship with a LVM. After 5 years together, I would beg him to help me with something, remind him over and over again, make it clear that not doing this one thing would cause a serious issue for me, schedule it for him, and when the moment it needed doing had arrived I, saw he wasn't actually going to do it and had never intended to. So I did it myself anyway. 🤡

Any man who makes excuses about why he can't just do the bare minimum for you is wasting your time - and enjoying it! I know those of us with a healthy sense of compassion struggle to learn that lesson, but it's true. LVM who brush off your feelings and convince you to lower your standards love the power it gives them over you. It's just a game to them. Do not play.

I once had a platonic male friend not text me for six days because he “was busy packing” for a one day trip. Because of FDS I blocked every single man except for 2 because I expect better in my life. It feels so good to not be surrounded by LVM.

I don’t need to be constantly getting texts but text is the lowest effort that anyone can do... if he doesn’t... he is just a lazy piece of shit 🤷🏻‍♀️
