I love this movie because of Iris's character development. When she finally learns she's the leading lady of her own life and creates a meaningful life outside of Jasper, love it.

I need a movie where they give the actress the lines and scenes of the main male actor. practically, the only reversal. She needs to act and say exactly the same things the male character would do or say. Say hello to Jill.

And the male character will be given her lines and her scenes. He will be called Bob.

And I bet every man out there will complain about Bob's character - they will hate him. How come Bob's only focus is Jill? Why does Bob spend 5 hours deciding what to wear to the date? Why does Bob not have any independent thought voiced out throughout the entire movie? Is Jill his only purpose in life? We see Bob ditching family, career, great life options, and mental health in order to stay at Jill's feet.

Meanwhile, Jill is a super hustler who is portrayed in adventure after adventure. She even fights crime. She hangs out in bars and no matter what she is doing she looks excellent. She is not once seen applying makeup or having conversations with her mirror. She is confident, sexy, and tough. And not once has she spared a thought to Bob, only that one time when she asked him to move closer so she wouldn't waste gas to drive and meet him. She really doesn't need Bob in her life. meanwhile, Bob's life purpose hasn't changed. We have a cumulated 30 minutes of him wondering whether "Jill loves him", whether he's cute, or whether that pair of jeans makes him look fat.

Et voila!

This is what the industry does to every female character in a movie: it makes them a Bob. Not cool, Hollywood, not cool!
