I did see there are lots of posts being frustrated with the other half not proposing but every issue has their own spin.

Been with my fella for 6 years. Have a house, 14 month old child and dog.. life is sweet.

I like many women want the fairytale. I often ponder about my dream wedding and get overly excited with the details of what it can be.

We have a great relationship and pretty decent with communication. I have always been the driver of the relationship of I want to buy a house, I want to come off the pill... Making those big desisions for us basically, of course he has input and I respect his thoughts but I feel I'm always one step ahead.

We've talked about marriage and I've told him I want to get married and I want him to take charge of this one as I'm somewhat traditional. He's like yeah I'm not fussed but I know it's important to you. Then a year later and the same conversation happens. A year later... Again. I asked him outright is there an issue, he basically said the idea of being the centre of attention makes him anxious. I told him I'm happy to do something super low key and don't want him to feel that way. A year later, I asked him, sooo do you have a plan because I'm getting to the point where I feel it's never going to happen. He said no he doesn't have a plan. I said can you make a plan because as I have told you before marriage is important to me.

Four months later.. I haven't said anything yet. I feel I've said absolutely everything I can without forcing him down the aisle. I don't want to do that. How do I accept it may never happen with me not feeling resentful. He's an amazing man, he just isn't a romantic or a doer so do I just accept. I know he loves me, but I feel he hasn't heard me and I can't do anything more.
