I hate this stupid argument, that men built everything (false), invented everything (false), and are more visionary (false, false, false). Women have been less able to contribute to arts, sciences and politics because, you know...men wouldn't allow them to read, write or pursue a profession. Even when women did create things, their achievements were washed out of history. Men force women into mute subservience and then claim this oppression is natural and a woman's choice. It's hard to have a choice when it's either do as you're told or face societal ostracization and male violence.

This has me thinking about how we tend to see the objectification of women through a lens of hyper-commercialisation as if it's a product of late stage capitalism because "sex sells" when it's really born out of the fact that women were literally possessions for most of recorded human history.

Nothing's changed when it comes to ”inventive” ”creators”, who ride on coattails of better men and unpaid women's labor. As soon as a woman is more interested in autonomy than slavery for some toxic disrespectful guy, she is immediately labeled ugly, crazy, the opposite of current beauty standards, who is only bitter because she can't get sex (projection much?).
