Hey ladies, I've been following and participating in FDS for nearly a year now, but for most of that time, I was in a long term relationship in which we both already had said I love you to one another. We later broke up (which FDS helped me with).. I was single for a while.. and lately the guy that I've been dating and I have made it "official" and declared a relationship.

It's been a long time since I had to think about expressing love for the first time to someone. While I was single, and even towards the end of my last relationship, I really did a lot of introspection and took in what FDS teaches. I am confident that I know myself well enough to not just give in to the "romance" and say I love you before I genuinely do, but I want to know what is the FDS stance on saying "I love you" in a newer relationship?

Would you wait to say it until he does? How long into a relationship would you go before expecting him to bring it up? How soon would be too soon and is that always a bad thing? Would you wait to be intimate until after you have those feelings for someone and express them or does that not necessarily matter?

Again, I know I'm not yet in that place, but I can see potential in this guy and I want to avoid mistakes I mightve made in the past that cheapened the 'I love you's
