Any man who openly lists multiple mental health issues to someone he barely knows is a hard no for me. Especially the depression/anxiety/panic disorder triad. From personal experience what men really mean 99% of the time is that they’re overgrown toddlers who are unable to cope with adult responsibilities and have a shitty job/life that they are not trying to improve.

I’ve had a couple phone calls that quickly weeded out guys with some HUGE red flags that likely wouldn’t have come up in texting or at least until meeting.

First dude had serious anger issues and let on that he had some sort of lawsuit going on with a former employer. Quick truthfinder search revealed lots of flags. NOPE.

Second one dropped some not-so-subtle racist remarks when speaking about coworkers. Also had anger issues. Also lived in his parents’ basement. NOPE.

Now that man's probably on that askmen thread saying how he was "vulnerable and opened up to a woman" and she dumped him. Dudes, just because you tell us all your issues doesn't mean we have to deal with them. You would dump women for the same thing.

I never understand why people wouldn't talk on the phone, it's great way to screen for various things and helps you see if your values and such align. Also you can tell if you are actually going to get on. The guy I am dating now we had a 3 hour conversation before we met for the date. In that time we spoke politics, religion and what we were looking for and future plans amongst various other things.

I sometimes even suggest video call. Too much effort to get ready for a date, commute and then commit certain time to a man only to be disappointed within first few minutes. I’ve been able to weed out a ton of men just through phone / video calls.
