You know there are some groups/industries/etc. that regulate themselves and some that don't? Men are definitely the latter. I have so, so so rarely heard a man have a go at another man for talking about having sex with 16 year olds just because it's legal. There needs to be something about age gaps up to at least 18 and probably 21, too.

When I was 18, 15 year olds already looked like little children to me. It was a thing, wasn't it? All of my friends and classmates would talk about it every September, how childish the younger years looked... and it doesn't stop. He should be more ashamed of it now, not less. When I was in my early 20s, I realised the 18 year olds starting uni were so cute and chubby cheeked. I'd thought we were fully fledged adults at that age - being 18 is a big deal, too, yet another reason he knew he was in the wrong at the time! - but just a few years changes so much.

Were boys having parallel discussions amongst themselves? In mixed groups, they were laughing at the babies, but in private, they were talking about being sexually attracted to them? Or are these perverts a minority? Has he had to wait to be an adult on reddit to find like minded men? I hope it's the latter, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I hate this argument, mostly because the scrotes have no idea what age of consent means. In most countries the age of consent is 14, but there’s a frickin reason for it, and it’s not for them!! The LEGAL age is 18, where everybody can have sex with everybody (above 18), and the age of consent is there so that children who sleep with other children don’t get punished by law. Ex, both kids are 14, that’s legal. In my country, the legal limit is up to 2 years difference between sexual partners. Ex 2, one kid is 14, other is 17 - that’s illegal, but the punishment is not as severe as it would be if the older party is a legal adult. Also, if children would fear of legal retribution if someone raped them, they wouldn’t report it ever. Age of 14 is considered as the age that a child can comprehend what was done to them, and can call it as is.

None of the above has anything to do with dirty old perverts wanting to sleep with children.

I went to that sub and read that entire post and all the comments. The OP over there was mad because he had to register as a sex offender when he was 18 for having sex with a 15 year old. He said things like "I was a nerdy 18 year old boy and she was the one who ran around with older guys." and "It only happened because her dad hated me". Because he's on the register he can't pass a background check and he's basically never done anything with his life since then (he's in his 30s now) because, what's the point.

He seriously wants to go live in a hut in Hawaii on a lava flow. Like, lol, what? Dude's a hot mess, lava notwithstanding. He's had several DUIs, has depression, can't hold a job, never completed his education, and so on.

Idk about anyone else but when I was a young girl I was actually deeply unsettled as I approached 18 and was no longer “jail bait”. It made me sick to imagine girls my age or younger getting into porn or getting married. I legitimately still told creepy men who asked my age that I was much younger for years. The amount of times I heard “old enough to bleed, old enough to breed” makes me sick.
