Hey FDS! I need some help and advice.

My parents are trying to force me to talk to guys that they set me up with, a modern version of the antiquated arranged marriage system. I don't want to do this and every time they ask it drives a wedge between our relationship. They tried to start forcing this stuff on me when I was SIXTEEN. I'm much older now 26, but whenever they bring it up I get this icky feeling that they don't have my best interests at heart. Back then, at 16, when I had to look out for my own interests, they would yell and ridicule me telling me I was ungrateful and rude that I didn't want to talk to a 28-year-old in some foreign country (WTF I know right).

Just for some background, their process of "vetting" are three criteria: if he's old enough, and of the same religion and "comes from a good family" that's it... there's nothing else. I'm highly educated and make 6 figs on my own and when I asked for them to add that to their list of vetting questions they went on and on about how money isn't everything. I mean it's not everything but I'm not going to date a leech.

The biggest problem (to me right now) is when they bring up these conversations I feel like I'm brought back to being a child and having to advocate and be there for myself. Where they could not look out for my best interests and it's just another reminder of how my parents have kind of screwed me at every turn regarding anything with my emotions. When I tried to commit suicide they never got me help, just talked a bunch of shit to me. I've been in therapy for 3 years and am still climbing out of that hole.

Any advice would be super useful. I don't even speak to one grandma anymore because she doesn't want to talk to me until I'm engaged.
