Thiiiiis.

Once upon a time when I was on OLD it was my observation that I had the best experiences with people on Tinder (though still not the highest of bars so it's not at all an endorsement lol) which I attributed to the fact that it has the most users and allowed me to be more freely selective of who I responded to once we matched based on what they said and did from there.

Bumble, which totally markets itself as the empowering feminist type app was by far the worst, because of how severely it boosted mens already severely inflated egos to think that messaging them at all must mean they already have you in the bag--even if all you message is "sup" they think you must be impressed and wanting to date and dying for their d.

And spoiler--virtually all of the men who were on Bumble were also on Tinder. They just acted shittier per platform because the dating economy of each platform facilitated it.

What was wild is people would disagree with my assessment on that all the time spouting the marketing cliche that tinder is just for hookups whereas the others are for more serious people or whatever. I think this is actually the only community I've seen where it was broadly recognized that the marketing vs the actual power dynamics at play are in direct contradiction.

Bullshit the whole way down!

I was on tinder twice - once for like 2 days and I swear only swiped right on one guy bc I was TERRIFIED of dick picks or dtf messages. The 2nd time I went one, never got anything like that. Actually went on a couple nice dates w/ 1 guy but I was insecure and so was he lol, so that ended badly after a few weeks. I never had a horrible experience on any dating app, I didn't swipe right much and most convos never went past a few messages. Actually, it was only on OKC did I come across a couple BDSM profiles and the like.

So yeah, my ass tinder is for hook ups, they ALL are. And it's common that one person will be on multiple apps! I've totally seen the same guys months apart on different apps lol

My main complaint with OLD was I was so fucking tired of having the same conversation w/ 9 out of 10 guys, all asking me the same hey where do you work/live/hang out where right there in my profile was an extremely brief list of interests (like seriously, 4 things) that a guy could ask me about to start a convo. And yet no one could be fucking bothered to read it. So what am I waiting my time for?
