The number one thing would the girls who are in the videos did not provide 100% consent to everything that happened in the video. They are forced to perform dehumanizing acts in front of a camera with a room full of mostly men for an industry catered to men. Google any story of female porn actresses leaving the industry and see how revealing their experiences are.

Rethink in terms of revenge porn. A female sex worker will be treated horribly compared to their male costars. This footage is going to be forever owned by the industry, your face and likeness will be owned and there’s no way to reclaim it... I’m assuming most of these girls entered the industry at 18 most likely didn’t have money for a good lawyer to explain all the details of the contract.

There is absolute no benefit for the girl in these videos, LVM will forever save images of your face to flop his limp dick. Also just remember that porn keeps human traffickers in business. Porn caters to mens extreme desires and when porn isn’t enough it quickly turns toward child pornography. Accessing minors who really can’t provide consent and manipulating young kids who don’t have the capacity to understand your motives.

I wouldn’t bother because he doesn’t care. It’s degrading , dehumanizing, unrealistic , addictive, and so on. Nobody thinks about the women who work in the industry and what happens to them after they leave the industry. People love to glamorize it . Many were forced to do things without consent, dont own their content , underpaid or not paid , and so on. Many pornstars die from suicide or drug overdose as well.

To be concise and not engage in arguments, I say:

It has numerous negative impacts on the individual, relationships and society. Masturbation has positive effects, pornography has no positive effects. (Spend 30 mins googling 'why is porn bad' and you can find an abundance of material and read it).

You don't need to explain yourself. If you don't like porn and don't want it in your relationships, he should accept that it's a boundary of yours. If not, he isn't a friend. We need to stop over-explaining our dislikes and boundaries to people who only want an excuse to invalidate them.

But if you're interested. I recommend reading "Pornland" by Gail Dines for a start. It's a heavy read and it only really touches on one issue (how the prevalence of porn has warped our perception of relationships and sexuality), but it's one strong argument for why porn is bad and why its current form was inevitable.

These are my talking points when it comes up:

Sex cannot be considered consensual if there is coercion involved, money is coercion. What is being filmed is non-consensual sex (also known as rape).

The women who do porn have a history of sexual abuse and have mental problems and drug addictions stemming from that abuse. The majority of women in porn aren’t middle class women looking to feel “empowered” and get a little spending money (that’s a lie men tell to make themselves feel better) they are ill and desperate.

And for those selfish men who don’t care about rape and using desperate women. Porn changes your brain and can cause ED.

If you feel he's just challenging you because he's being defensive or contrarian, let him know that multiple guys you or your friends slept with couldn't stay hard during sex. They all watched porn. You looked it up, and it turns out that porn is linked to erectile dysfunction.

If he's not having an honest, open minded conversation with you, then the only way to get him to care is about making him worry about his penis 🙄

If he's actually interested in a philosophical discussion about what makes it wrong, then share all the harms: women are trafficked, and pressured, and raped, and underage. It's degrading to women and it's rarely about the woman's pleasure, so guys who watch it are more likely to think sex is supposed to be about them instead of both people. There's also something predatory and cruel about prostitution - we don't allow people to sell important parts of their body for money, so why do we allow this to happen to women?

Most men don't seem to care about this. They get over their shame and ignore important realities that it hurts women. It hurts women, it's just a fact. And they ignore it because they're addicted. And honestly, how could you not get addicted? It's a cheap easy orgasm achieved with little effort. It's free, it's abundant, and it's so easy to reach for. And then when they interact with real women, it's so much more challenging... So it's easy to give up and go back to porn.

I don't know what the solution to porn is. It's impossible to ban it and stop the creation, but it's clearly not good for society. I guess it's just one of those things that the only thing you can do is control the social narrative... Make it known that it's not ok, so we can normalize rejecting men who watch porn. At the very least, maybe they'll start to lie and be ashamed that they watch it.

Porn negatively affect's one's ability to develop close, intimate relationships with real people AND that it normalizes sexual violence against women. And it’s obviously addictive.

The industry is insanely corrupt and unethical. Racist, sexist, exploitative. When you watch porn, you can never be 100% sure that the people you are watching are truly there by their own free will. If you watch a lot of porn, there's a solid chance that you've gotten off by watching someone who is essentially being raped through coercion/exploitation. Some of these "actors" are basically enslaved. The state of affairs is the porn industry is appalling.

You should look up how many videos are of non consenting women and it kills love. One study showed that men who watched porn just once were less sensitive to violence against women. It’s also one of the biggest aids to 4.8 million people being sex trafficked each year. There is so much f-Ed up with the industry you should definitely look into it.
