You're not wrong but I'd highly recommend not having the last part of your dialogue not be something that could be construed as threatening. I get it, hurt people hurt people but if someone's already thinking men are evil, that part will read to them as we're gonna hurt them if we dont get treated better, which isnt a good optic for a gender that's trying to not be viewed as monsters.

I agree with you that the rule making an allowance for hate speech against people based on being a man or being white is absolutely ridiculous.

However, I don't think that going with this stuff to the media is a productive idea. At this point, only conservative media would jump on such a story... and even then, I'm not sure, since those guys can find plenty of other culture war stuff to focus on. Most people don't give a shit about Reddit drama. The way you've worded it, it unfortunately comes across as you taking your personal grievance with a Reddit mod or admin to the media. I can't see it not being laughed out of the room.

I think the best chance you'd have to highlight this issue

is to pick a specific subreddit, which has other problematic aspects besides misandry (other problematic aspects which are taken seriously by contemporary American liberals and progressives working in media) and point it out to the media.

FemaleDatingStrategy might be a good example of that, since it has a lot of blatant transphobia, SWERF content, promotes weirdly conservative ideals for dating, like shaming women who don't let the man pay for all the dates, and shaming women who approach men. It has actual misogyny as well, since it calls women who don't conform to their ridiculous ideology "pickmeishas". They have no problem slut-shaming women who don't conform to their ideology either.

Alongside all those problems, you just point out the blatant and ridiculous misandry as well, and how the misandry actually is the basis for their hate-boner (hate clit?) against trans women.

And voilà. Now you don't just look like some conservative culture warrior who wants to go on about how white men are the true oppressed class, while ignoring everything else. You actually have pointed them to a very strange and quite popular subreddit that has a lot of disturbing content once you scratch beneath the surface. You also point out how it seems to follow a similar, but genderflipped dynamic to RedPill and incel ideology, and how it promotes an absolutely toxic views of relationships to young impressionable women, under the banner of helping vulnerable women to raise their standards.

Why do I think this would work better? Because now you've demonstrated that misandry is not just a thing conservatives invented, but that it can be deeply intertwined with, and at the basis of, other hateful thoughts that the liberal/progressive intellegentsia do take seriously.

Young men and boys are being pushed to right wing radicalization. They're joining Q-anon groups and alt right groups. And I've come to understand where some of this push is coming from.

Both sides of radicalization are bad, and mass media (including Reddit) stimulates radicalization of any kind, whether it be stimulation or backlash. People here are already aware what radical rightists do. Radical leftists, on the other hand, tend to be doormats to any kind of higher narrative and encourage self-victimization. If the response wasn't obvious, you were basically being told you are "not a true leftist"(TM) and are thus not worthy of consideration.

As much as I want to believe this would help, I'm doubtful.

Bringing this to the media would likely result in us being deemed an alt-right men's group. Then reddit would remove this sub. The only ones who would be receptive to us would be conservative groups, which would likely have us end up hated by our liberal peers unfairly.

I wouldn't use acronyms like TERF, even those in the media who are talking about gender issues might not know a definition like that. They seem to be out of the loop as a rule, ironically enough.

Communities and people that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.

Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.

While the rule on hate protects such groups, it does not protect those who promote attacks of hate or who try to hide their hate in bad faith claims of discrimination.

I feel that allowing explicit hate speech against men or white people is against the hate speech laws in Canada.

I've got a sick feeling I'm wrong about that, though :(

I know men aren't a 'protected class' for the sake of a human rights trial but I don't think that's the same as explicit hate speech.

You'll never get anywhere when the sort of subs you engage in have incited actual acts of violence against women, that the media has actively reported on. You also have failed to provide any sources to back up your claims, instead you have selectively provided quotes from responses to MRA posts, with disclosing the posts themselves. Most of the posts on the likes of r/mensrights are so full of venom and hatred that they completely undermine any legitimate concerns. So you're trying to paint the picture of the victim without even substantiating it. Instead you're basically giving your opinion and ranting about your feelings. It's completely unsubstantiated and based on emotion rather than fact.

You need to focus your energies on getting some mental health support. And I say that earnestly.
