Seeing your own family, or the idea that you would want to. I dated this girl only for like 3 and a half months, and she was already bringing up getting engaged and moving out. (I was still living at home at the time) I believe she was mad cause I went somewhere with my mom & sister, and she wanted to tag along, but they hated her, so I left her out. So an argument started, I don't care for her then she snapped “When we move out what do you think, you'll be visiting them on the weekends?” Like yea, I would expect that I would be able to see my family when I would want to. That began the end, cause once you see a woman's angry side, its over. Topping on the cake was I did a 10k race a few weeks later, and she wanted me to see her right afterwords (She was going to come with me to support me, but magically didn't feel good and wanted to stay home, saying her mom said there is no way she should go out). Anyways 10k race is over, she expects us to go to all these places, then somewhere she had been wanting to go fo rdinner (She always wanted to take me to some shithole in jersey). So I told her that actually could we just do dinner later, as I was tired from the race and wanted to rest up for a few hours, “Wow, guess you really don't care about me” I ended up going late afternoon, she magically could leave the house, took me to a walmart, michaels, acmoore and shit. I knew when we went to a nearby friendly's, that was the last dinner I would ever have with that bitch. Dumped her 2 days later on the phone.

My ex fell pregnant "on accident" fairly soon in the relationship. I'd been living a fairly care free life up to that point but I decided that the right thing to do would be to go all in, man up and do what I'd been programmed to do. Marry her and work my ass off to keep her happy.... oh to be able to travel back in time and slap some sense into myself.

I had just moved back to my hometown (because of said pregnancy) and couldn't find a job which was as much money as I was used to (well, wasn't as much as she wanted) so I took a 2nd, part-time job. I'd get up at 6, get ready and drive to 1st job, 8 am- 5pm, then finish that job, drive to 2nd job 6pm - 10pm (and 6 hours each weekend day of overtime she thought I should do)

So, work+commute = 16 hours per day, plus ~13 hours on the weekend = 93 hour week.

Keep in mind, she was only about 3 month pregnant at this point and NOT working.. she'd go mental that I wasn't pulling my weight with the house cleaning and dish washing around the house. This was inbetween me laying laminate floor and painting etc. to get the house ready how she wants it for the baby to arrive.

It angers me how much of a doormat I was back then, if you're reading this and you're at the beginning of this journey.. then yes, by all means do everything it takes to make sure that kid is brought up right but don't suffer the shit I did. I got divorced after 3 kids with this woman (about 5 years ago), I worried that it would mess the kids up but my relationship with them has gotten so much better, they're at mine more than at hers, they never give me any grief, are very loving and are pretty well behaved, but she seems to get behavioral problems out of them, funny that...
