Because there is nothing tangible for the men to gain from having those while the downsides/risks could be quite substantial. In other words, the relationships fail both the cost/benefit and risk/benefit analyses. Even the pedestrian "dating" fails those so where is the surprise that we're living in the hookup "culture"?

The belief that associating with women can be harmless fun is the Blue Pill delusion. It is a misunderstanding of female nature to assume that women love the same way that men love. Women are instinctively attracted to a man's utility - what he can do for her - and not to the man himself. This is part of their hypergamous nature. They don't actually love the provider as much as what he provides in the way of status, money, resources, security, attention, etc.

The reason the great majority of MGTOW swear off women can be summed up in this simple aphorism: "You can either love women or you can understand them; but you cannot do both."

We find that as we learn more and more about female nature, when you truly understand women at their deepest level, and discover who they truly are, we find ourselves less and less motivated to have anything to do with them.

No amount of sexual pressure can compel a man who is aware of women's true nature to continue to consciously play women's games and get ensnared in their self serving BS. So to put it very simply, just because we are sexually attracted to women doesn't mean we want to be with them. We don't like who they are, their personalities are false, their intentions nefarious, and their supposed love is only proportional to what is in it for her.

Take a stroll over to the Female Dating Strategy subreddit or any of their feminist forums and see their real faces. Do not take my word on it, see their true nature for yourself. This is what The Red Pill is, exposure to the truth.

I have had a few FWB situations over the years with women who are on the same page as me. Just want to hang out occasionally for some company, human contact, and sexual release. Sex is good for me and healthy for me in ways that masturbation is not. I should note, though, that I'm also older and the women I am involved with are past their kid bearing years and I've also been clipped. There's no way I would engage in this type of a scenario with a woman in her 20s or 30s. It's not fool proof, but it is at the level of risk that I, personally, am comfortable with. Brutal honesty by both parties is the only way these things work for me which is also why these women are just as much friends as lovers - where as a relationship is lots of unspoken games and manipulation. Night and day difference when both parties know they can walk away at any time. I am firmly in the camp that you are going your way as long as you are not married or living with someone. Having kids out of wedlock runs financial risk - but that is up to the individual. I have a friend who has 5 kids out of wedlock and 2 from a prior marriage. Most here would view this as a major mistake, but he's an extremely wealthy guy and loves his kids. The money he tossed over for child support was a drop in the bucket. All this yet still unattached and does what he wants. Probably a better and more dedicated father than many and I think some of it has to do with he doesn't have a wife/gf undermining how he treats, interacts, and parents his kids.

Not all MGTOW's reject STR's or even LTR's. We go our own way. So some men reject a woman's company entirely.

But not everyone.

The reason to do it is because even girlfriends/flings can file false charges, babytrap or what have you.

The reason not to do it is because quite a few women tend to be on their best behavior while unmarried. So there's a type of man who will get a vasectomy and risk the odds in the dating world. Some are willing to do that, some aren't. It just depends.

The one thing we all agree on is not getting married. But I won't fault a man who is interested in some sort of relationship with a woman. Just remember, at best she's your third or fourth priority.

In some countries a woman is entitled to claim all your assets after just 6 months of dating. Marriage/Kids significantly raises their ability to actually succeed in their claims.

But as a lot of the other MGTOW kings have said, we're not all completely turned off by the idea of relationships. To explain, a lot of blokes, SIMPs in particular, put relationships and women as their number one priority. Those with the MGTOW mindset put women at a more realistic priority spot down that list, if on it at all.

Say for instance the average simp has this priority:

Simping Woman - Dating sites - porn - Job - Personal spend.

An example MGTOW might have this priority:

Job - Hobby - Personal Spend - Fun/Recreation/Holidays - Dating/Brothel

But as per the first point I mentioned, women stand to gain a lot from men but men have everything to loose. Only thing really gained for men is sex (Which is mutual benefit) and if they're really lucky then perhaps housework done. Other than that nothing...

Women tend to not love the man but seek what he can provide. I've seen so many cases of where a dude pretends to loose a high paying job to his wife and she bolts, taking the kids. Even more this happens when they actually do loose it.

Look around on female relationship chats, they'll crap on about some cruel plot going wrong and that it's the dudes fault for not wanting to simp like a pos. Dude ones are like "Why tf is this chick doing X?" Should tell you everything you need to know.

I'm genetically pretty lucky. 6"5 with an average face.

I got my numbers up to ~70 by spinning plates for a few years and I just find women boring. Apparently they all think having an opinion on pineapple on pizza, hiking, board games and dogs> cats constitutes an engaging personality.

I've shifted my focus to hobbies, self improvement and helping mates improve their mental/physical health. Couldn't be happier :)

I quit on relationships because in EVERY case it became more stress than it was worth. Vapid conversations, paying for everything all the time, have them get jealous when i hang out with my friends instead of her. The list really can go on forever.

They so quickly start trying to control you. Shit tests to see where you will cave, picking fights, just being a pain in the ass.

Add to this a few psycho ex scenarios with a keyed car and trashed apartment and threats to say i assaulted her, and i was like "fuck this shit".

What did i really like from them? Sex.

And thats what i get now, but on a transactional basis with a professional.

There is no great way to MGTOW when you have or want women in your life.

I tend to just keep friends. Nothing more. I find that causal sex is just a way to try to lure you in.

I am an older guy, and most of the women want to just hang out, then they want to meet my young children. Mommy and I are divorced.

Then they get all emotional, need help and make hints they want more.

Sure there are nice women who are just looking for partners and companionship, but my experience is most develop feelings after some time. That's why it's good to change up your FWB when they get too comfortable.

Once they want more, crazy can overtake them, and when I was freshly dating after divorce I managed to pick up a stauker ex girlfriend who trails me and sometimes makes contact with people she see in my FB. I tried to block her, but she has her ways of getting through, starting new profiles and gets into groups that she can see my profile. It's scary, and you don't know what the girl will do, until you get to that point. Kind of like divorce.

So for that, I have gone monk happily for a few years. I am old enough that sex is not a big deal, and I have plenty of other friends to keep me from feeling lonely.

I wonder if a lot of guys know they’ll return to their old ways. Or if short term relationships lead to a lot of unnecessary drama. I know of older people who have long term monogamous relationships where they don’t cohabitate. But I think when a woman is younger she is really expecting a marriage proposal. Because of the societal expectations and how much of a woman’s value is placed on her not being a spinster.

“Relationships” is broad term.

Do I still date, communicate, associate, & do things with women? Of course I do. What can I say, I enjoy the feminine touch.

What I won’t do is get into ANY form of exclusive romantic relationships, no LONG-TERM relationships, no cohabitating, no kids & definitely no marriage.

The longer you’re with a woman exclusively, the more issues start to arise. The shit tests will start, she starts feeling entitled to your time & it just goes down from there.

I am very cognizant of the negative traits involving women.

I dont want to be in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship. I think being alone is a good thing, you have to offer something good to beat that. Being alone is an actual option. I have had a bit more distanced female friends, and deal with a lot of women at work, by god, the level of existing manipulation... I find it exhausting. You have to constantly watch your step. Luckily, with the women at work, there is a language barrier with most of them, so the effectiveness of the manipulation techniques gets a bit drowned out, most of them are foreign.

With some of the women at work, there are some that could be concidered for relationship but the guys seem to be a bit aware of that they hit jackpot on a wife thats tolerable. If its for sex, there are other ways of getting it if you really want to.

Saw this topic on FB. For me it's the compromise; MGTOW is how your own way and females and companionship aren't the focus. What if you're doing your own thing and meet a female who there is very little compromise for? That being said, I have a gf, but I don't date. I hang out with whoever. I don't go around fucking people cuz for me there seems to be an additional expectation if you hang out more than 3 times.

As for marriage, I can't see that occurring without compromise, so imo, if you're married U're not MGTOW

There are many variations of mgtow. I don't know how many mgtow swear off relationships and how many go full monk, but I don't.

I recommend not getting married, cohabitation, or having a long-term relationship (more than 6 months and exclusive). The reasons behind no marriage are obvious. Cohabitation risks common law marriage. Even LTRs violate the basic principle men should adopt: never legally, financially, or emotionally commit to a woman. I would also recommend the principle of never be exclusive with a woman. Now if you follow either of those two principles, LTRs are out.

However, all of the following are ok: non-exclusive and non-committed relations, friends with benefits, fuck buddies, one night stands. Just don't make chasing tail the focus of your life like those on r/TheRedPill. There are far more important things in life.

When I do a pro/con analysis of getting into an LTR with a woman, the cons heavily outweigh the pros. There are just too many downsides and disadvantages, and there's too little of an upside to motivate me to go through the time, trouble, expense, and work of pursuing, finding, and maintaining it.

I've got nothing against women and generally like them. I am just happier single (unattached, that is).

You guys seem to really group women all in the same boat. This hasn't been my experience with women and none of my friends have had the issues with women that are described here. I can definitely attest that I feel better when I'm with someone who is a consummate companion and when we break up I and none of my friends lose any of or possessions. I would say that I actually have more stuff after my breakup from gifts bought for me by my now ex. How many of you have actually lost money or material wealth from a breakup? And how many of you had this happened more than once? It seems like you guys point out extreme cases and treat them as the norm
