I've been in an LTR for more than five years. I'm post divorce (rape) and mid life, she's younger. My daughter is in her early 20s. Her whole outlook on life has been poisoned by my ex, her mother. It pains me to say it, but she has most of the awful traits of women in their party years. She can't stand my LTR and the feeling is mutual.

Honestly, I wish they'd both STFU and have told each that in so many words. Neither accepts the other and both are wrong. But my daughter is mine for life, and that just IS. The power struggle between the two of them and the near constant bitching about each other is getting harder to take.

My LTR keeps making dread noises. She does add value to my life and I don't want things to end solely because of my daughter's interference. But at the same time, this just can't go on.

It's hard to muster "abundance mentality" at age 51, at least for me. I don't see myself spinning plates and re-entering the cesspool of online dating. So I admit that my former beta bitch self may be hanging on because he dislikes the alternative.

How would a truly unplugged RP analyze this dilemma? I'm only a year into swallowing the pill and would welcome the insights of those further along in the journey.
