Somewhat common( not unheard of) in the military.

A lot of less than desirable women floating around military bases so guys want to get out of the barracks and don’t want to settle with the bridge troll that frequents the local watering hole and has 6 kids.

So what do they do? They marry a like minded soldier and get paid more money in the form of an allowance from the government called BAH and get to move into their own place off post away from the fuckery that happens at the barracks.

So you get more money, you get your own place with a roommate of your choosing, an escape from post, a place to bring girls back and all you gotta do is marry your bro.

There are some obvious legal benefits from this but you mention being able to date and sleep with women and that defeats the entire purpose of your proposal. You are now injecting relationship drama, chance of pregnancy and financial issues.

In order for this plan to work you would both need to be sterilized. You could freeze sperm before hand but you wouldn’t be able to just sleep around shooting live loads as the first pregnancy would destroy the very thing that you created. Also dating and sleeping around leads to some Sort of feelings of attachment unless you are a complete sociopath.

It’s an interesting idea and it can work out in a sort term situation but I don’t think it works in the long term unless you are at an age where sex is no longer on the table or you both agree to higher escorts or something of the sort.

Marriage is the bedrock foundation our western society was built on to raise healthy people. Perhaps the nuclear family has weakened in America but it still serves a purpose.

It's what I just did. Best friend and I had both struck out recently back in April and started joking about how we should just give up on romance and Ernie and Bert our way through life together. Some shit came up and we both kinda realized that there's nobody else that would ever know us better or have our backs than each other. Our families are already integrated. We've already been on hundreds of friend-dates and dozens of trips together. We have a better relationship than most couples.

We don't bang but it's not that hard to hook up with someone if I really find myself in that mood. So far I just don't care.
