Sexual assault accusations should be investigated by law enforcement authorities who have training in collecting evidence and questioning witnesses. Not by college professors who volunteer to sit in on student discipline hearings in their free time.

This is STILL insane! Not one mention of the fact that... COLLEGES ARE NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES AND NOT THE POLICE OR COURTS OF LAW. Anyone working at a school should go to jail THEMSELVES or at the very least fired for even attempting such an insane thing! And all she says is that it needs to be 'reformed.' (????)

NO, if someone has assaulted you, stole from you, raped you, you call the FUCKING POLICE. If you decline to call the police if you have been supposedly 'raped' and just tell the people at your school instead then you might as well just go ahead and admit you're making a false accusation because it's OBVIOUS if you're not going to the police. What? Because you don't 'trust' the police? NO, it's because the police are going to INVESTIGATE, because that is their JOB. WHY? So they can gather evidence in order to make an ARREST and then later a conviction, NOT because they're calling you a liar, but then of course your lie is going to fall apart in the questioning and THEN now YOU'RE going to be in trouble and possibly be facing prison time for making a FALSE ACCUSATION.

What's next? Is WAL-MART and other giant companies in the private sector going to start forming 'courts' to 'try' it's employees for stealing from the company and assaulting and/or raping other employees?

From the OTHER direction this is an obvious FARCE- if you had REALLY been raped, the only punishment that you and your family want for the rapist is to just GET EXPELLED FROM SCHOOL and not go to prison?!? THIS IS INSANE.

Welp! at least we achieved something with Donald Trumps victory. The Title IX Law was heavily flawed and I'm glad to see it being replaced. If anything I think the National Collation for men needs to have even more conferences with her.

This is just one, of the many steps we are going to try to make collage/The educational system much more male friendly.

This is why I voted for trump mainly, He was are best bet in seeing some Lessening of the Gynocentric War on men and masculinity. Looks like its paying off to.

That’s not really appropriate on the campus level. We’re not locking people up, executing them, putting them away for years denying their liberty.

You might as well be. The damage done to them via these kangaroo courts is just as severe.

That is really good news for those in the US. Hope the public consultation works out. Sure will piss off the 'progressive' left to lose the power to ruin young men's lives based on nothing by the whim of another though, and they will fight hard against this.

As a staunch democrat I think this administration has been a disaster, but this is the one positive change I was hoping for after the election results.

I respected Hillary and I'm happy to say I voted for her, but I never had any illusions to the fact that her presidency would have represented a direct threat to men's rights in this country, I just felt that as an entire package she was clearly a better option than Trump. I'm deeply unsatisfied with the direction the country is moving in under the current leadership, but this change at least seems to be a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, it's going to take years for this system to be rolled back. There are way too many people who have an institutionalized interest in it.

Also, a lot of the administrators will drag their feet on reforms while they wait for Trump to be replaced by a Democrat in 2020.

To make actual change in the next three years DeVos needs to make serious threats of pulling federal funding for schools that maintain the kangaroo-court system.

If i was writing a survey to gauge how many women had been sexually assaulted, and my funding was based on this, it is in my best interest to inflate this number.

So what I would do is ask a question like "has you or ANYONE YOU KNOW been groped or touched inappropriately in a sexual manner? (This allows for a much wider range of things to be included as I get to determine it all as sexual assault as opposed to what SHE 'thinks' was sexual assault. Afterall I wouldn't want her making up her own mind on whether or not she's a victim do I? This is MY survey).

What this also does is allow one incident to be included multiple times.

Example:

10 girls are on a night out and Rebecca gets groped and tells the dude to fuck off. She doesn't consider it a sexual assault and she laughs it off with her girlfriends and moves on with her night.

Now the next day in class a sociology graduate gives those 10 girls the survey and asks the questions:

'Have you, or ANYONE YOU KNOW, ever been groped or touched inappropriately in a sexual manner? Made unwanted physical contact? Etc. Etc.

Now 9 of these women saw Rebecca get groped, so seeing the 'anyone you know' part of the question, they all answer yes, including Rebecca.

When you tally it up, you have Rebecca getting some ass-grabbing and hey presto, it's now 10 cases of sexual assault. Now take that "100%" rate of sexual assault and apply for emergency funding and blast it across campus newspapers/tv media.

DeVos is doing the right thing. The whole thing is about money at the expense of women AND men. Victimize women, demonize men = profit
