It is becoming increasingly popular for feminists to claim that women are in danger when they reject men. I decided to look up the stats on this, to get an estimate of how many women are being killed by random men due to rejection. I used 2019 as the year, because 2020 stats may be skewed due to Covid.

In 2019, there were 1,647 women murdered by men in the United States. A large portion of these murders were abusive men killing their wife/girlfriend. Another good chunk of these involve prior criminal activity, such as a robbery gone wrong. Out of the 1,647 women, only a small fraction of them were murdered due to rejection. Lets say 5% as an estimate. Its likely lower than 5%, but we dont want to lowball it either, so lets go with 5 as a fair estimate. 5% of 1,647 is 82.

In 2019, there was approximately 106 million women in the US aged 15-64. We are using ages 15-64 because this is the "dating age" range. We are calculating the odds of a woman being murdered due to rejection, so it should only include ages where women are being asked on dates.

We now have our two numbers - roughly 106 million women in the "dating age range", and 82 women murdered by men after rejecting them. What does that leave us with? Those women have about a 0.000000773% chance of being murdered by some random guy due to rejecting him. Its literally less than 1 in a million.

Does this mean that the murders dont matter? Of course not. Any women being murdered, just because she rejected a guy, is a terrible tragedy. However, it is extremely rare. Its ridiculous to tell women that they should be scared of rejecting men because he might murder them.

Of course, feminists complain about more than men murdering women due to rejection. They complain about men in general being dangerous to women. Lets look at the overall murder rate. In 2019, there were roughly 165 million women and 1,647 murdered by men. That means less than 1 in 100,000 women were murdered by a man.

Feminists are creating unnecessary hysteria through their narrative that men are dangerous and women need to be careful. Its harming women by causing them unnecessary anxiety and its harming men by further pushing the "men suck" narrative. This is not equality. This is not justice. This is manufactured outrage.
