In California assault is considered a worse crime when committed by a man against a woman - this is irrespective of the harm done.

In the US as a whole 93% of prison inmates are men thanks to institutionalized misandry in the justice system (unless you genuinely believe women have less than a tenth of the criminality of men).

Mostly I've had the same experience. But I'm not weird looking and I won't waste time on someone who isn't putting out.

Thats fantastic for you. Hopefully no one ever has any bad things that happen to them because of their gender or race. Unfortunately thats not the experience of everyone. Im not completely convinced youve never experienced it either but maybe so.

This subreddit and to some extent the MR movement in general aim to do two things. One is a place for people who have had things happen to come and vent, discuss, and deal. The other is to provide advocacy for men. In the west (particularly the US and the UK) feminists have monopolized the dialogue on gendered issues (or made many issues that never needed to be gendered, gendered).

Let me give you two examples. Over here we have the Duluth Model it outright says that men are the aggressor. Sure some small insignificant of women are aggressors but they are probably just reacting to men being aggressive. This is despite research that says that men and women are about 50/50 on primary aggressor. They dont care. And whats worse they convince people of their lies because they get more money the more victimized women are. They have an incentive to just make shit up.

Secondy, americans (and I am one so I can say this) really love witch hunts. We've had several have one more and will probably have many more. Take rape on college campuses. Feminists are pushing that we are living in the age of some kind of rape epidemic on college campuses. Here is one definition of consent, you can google this verbatim to see how widespread it is because universities buy this definition from a legal resource center because they are scared of the feminist backlash of being lax on rape:

Consent is a voluntary, sober, imaginative, enthusiastic, creative, wanted, informed, mutual, honest, and verbal agreement.

When you have sex in whatever country you are in do you confirm that you have an imaginative creative agreement? What the fuck is that?

Well you have to have it here. The burden of proof will fall to you to PROVE that you had that definition of consent. I cant even explain what the hell it is but if I have sex Im a fucking rapist if I cant convince a kangaroo court that I had it. And while you are accused of it your face will be plastered in the campus newspaper as a rapist, youll be thrown out of your dowm, out of your dining hall, and out of your classes if they share space with your accuser until the judiciary hearing can get enough feminists in the room to expel whoever has a penis.

So how many rapes a year warrant this draconian heavy-handed response? Last year out of nearly 50k students at my institution we had 8 reported sexual assaults. Now these could be anything from a girl saw a guy in the parking lot and froze in cold terror as she reached for her dorm-provided rape whistle to actual rape. And again this isnt 8 people were raped and a court upheld they are truely victims, its just girls calling the police when they feel creeped. EIGHT

Its a witch hunt because we've let feminists monopolize the discussion for too long. This is part of the other voice to balance the discussion. So maybe in your part of the world none of these things are happening, thats fantastic. My advice is to just read some of the points here and then be aware of what can happen if you let things go on as long as we have. Because its an uphill battle here for us.

Can I ask...

Are you circumcized? Do you live in a place where that's common or was it at the time you were born?
What is your job? Do you do manual labor? Have you ever done a dangerous job, or do you know people who do?
Do you come from an intact family with 2 parents with healthy relationships? Have you experienced family conflict, or institutional responses to it?
Have you generally had positive experiences in the education system? Have you ever dealt with institutional punishment in it, special needs or other at-risk student issues?
Have you ever been bullied, or taunted for appearing gay?
Have you ever felt you had no choice but to defend yourself physically in a fight?
Have you ever been punished for anything at all, and was it your fault alone or was it with others? Were they male or female?
Have you ever been so poor you felt in danger of losing your only means of shelter? Do you know anyone who has ever become homeless from that situation?

If your answers are different from those of many MR posters (and westerners) then you may want to do a little self reflection about this.

On the internet fluff floats to the top - that is true of every forum.

Further the mensrights movement is not based on personal experience but actual numbers. The experience you report is much like that of a Christian who says they see evidence of Jesus everywhere, a biased report. The numbers support the main arguments of the mens rights movement.

People here, mostly, have issues with dating that are their own emotional issues more so than they are problems with society. Bringing this up is blaming the victim. Akin to going to a suicide forum and telling them to stop whining.

Hi! Feminist here. I'll give you some of my thoughts.

Firstly you say that you have never experienced institutional misandry but mention examples of it - both in your original post and some of your replies - lack of recognition of male rape victims (both legal and otherwise) is systemic and institutional - as are issues relating to men as victims of domestic violence. When you mention in one of your replies that you have been attacked for being bisexual - that is an example of the intersection of misandry and homophobia - women who are lesbians or bisexual are less targeted with violence then men who are gay or bisexual - just as men who are straight are targeted with violence more than women who are straight.

As for education - that is very specific to where people are - there exists, however, in many places social attitudes and values that lead to under-performance in boys and men, including higher rates of dropping out of education, less opportunities within education, lower graduation rates, and so-on. Often there is pressure on boys and men to appear to perform effortlessly, but not too well, because then you're a 'try hard' or a 'swot' or whatever the lingo happens to be in your area to put down boys and men who perform too well academically. This leads to boys and men being strongly discouraged both from performing as well as they can and from working as hard as they can - and this is shown in the statistics mentioned above.

As for disposability - its not surprising that you don't feel disposable - society doesn't encourage men to be disposable by making them feel disposable - Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori after all. It's not a coincidence that the vast majority of civilian causalities in wars are men - even when you look at children there is a bias towards the killing of boys. It may (or may not) surprise you that many infamous genocides were primarily targeted at men - examples include the killings in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Rwanda, and historically this is not unusual either - you'll certainly find it referenced in the Bible. In general men are the predominant victims of violence, and this is true world wide - not just men who live in prosperous, Western countries - gendered violence is a huge, global, institutional problem for men.

And finally I can recognize these issue even though I'm not an MRA - as a feminist I can clearly see institutional misandry in our societies treatment of men - that you don't feel discriminated against doesn't mean you aren't - and of course these things may or may not effect any specific individual, it works like privilege - just as White men in the USA earn more on average than MoC in the USA doesn't mean a specific White man earns more than a specific MoC; the fact that men in general are subject to more violence/worse educational outcomes/whatever than women doesn't mean a specific man does compared to a specific woman. Your experience may not be representative - though you yourself note that you have had to physically defend yourself on many occasions - chances are that had you been a woman born in the same circumstances you wouldn't have had the need to.

I live in the U.S. and have NEVER experienced most of those.

1 - I have always had the woman insist/offer on paying.

2 - I had one woman expect expensive gifts from me - I dropped her.

3 - never heard of any accidental pregnancies.

4 - never had any woman string me or any of my friends along for sex.

7 - I have never known anybody to be falsely accused of rape. I have been falsely accused of sexual harassment though.

13 - I have - FALSE sexual harassment accusations. The upper hand was clearly hers. Simply because she found me "unattractive", or "annoying" - she got to lie all she wanted about my personal conduct.

I agree, many of the things discussed in the MRM - are things that rarely happen.

However; I'd call much of it - a counter attack - as many things that feminism talks about - never happen - or rarely happen.

Rape hysteria Sex Trafficking Hysteria Date Rape Drug Hysteria Domestic Violence Hysteria (which - BTW - I have seen many relationships, and only in ONE of them, was the man the aggressor).

Rudeness from women - constantly - even at extremely inappropriate and unprofessional times (like when my brother was in the hospital).

Counter-attack as it may be - since I have not encountered most of those - I do not accept the label of MRA - or even MGTOW.

I pay on my dates but I pay for most my friends because I make a lot. I've had girls who earn significantly less than me pay for things plenty of times, and although I might end up spending more on them, they probably spend more in terms of percentage what they earn on me. But you'll hear everyone say "omg every girl wants you to pay for everything"

No one I've dated has expected expensive gifts from me, except one, and that wasn't because she was female in america, it was because she was the only grand child in a large old money family that bought her cars the most expensive clothing/jewelry/perfume etc all the time. She grew up all over the world in the most expensive cruises and world tours imaginable, so it wasn't even an influence of america, it was just a human being that was spoiled rotten. Most normal american girls don't expect all men to buy them expensive things all the time. Maybe they expect more from men, but more often men make more money than women anyway.

Custody can be shitty here but if you had documentation of her doing those things it probably wouldn't be an issue. Custody is an issue in general here though, I think one of the most serious ones (not a father, just it is one of the clearly fucked up issues)

Most men who are "friend zoned" aren't being promised sex. Almost every case of being friend zoned is a guy being pathetic and having wishful thinking. There are exceptions to this rule -- I got down voted like crazy at AskWomen for implying there's every even a single case otherwise -- but the majority of guys saying "she was giving me all these signals!" means she was basically just being friendly. The reason this issue is brought up from really undesirable guys all the time is because they want to extend the blame on to the woman for being manipulative instead of dealing with the fact that women can be nice to you and not trying to get into your pants. It's not much of a real problem for a lot of guys here... just guys on Reddit it seems. You'd be shocked to hear how many of these guys who are "friend zoned" think that women owe them sex for a guy being nice to her at all. It's fucked up.

The only time I was demonized for being male was when an ex was demonizing me for all kinds of things, including things that didn't happen (about how I ruined her life in middle school when I hadn't met her until college). Guys who feel demonized often come from the friend zone area where it wasn't having a penis that demonized them, it was them treating the girl like an object to be won and not a friend to be had that makes them demonized.

I've never been accused of false rape. This isn't something every girl does here, I don't know any guys who have been falsely accused of rape (and I know several that have been rightfully accused of rape, and those who haven't been but should be)

Women do cheat more significantly than men. It's a statistic. Often the difference is said to be women care more about men thinking about other girls whereas men care more about women sleeping with other guys -- meaning girls tend to undervalue cheating physically while guys undervalue basically being in love with another girl in a not physical way (according to their partners). It doesn't make women demons, and the majority of the cases where it happens its not exactly shocking (i.e. you can avoid it by picking someone trustworthy -- there are a lot of women who cheat that you could spot for a mile away, but guys go with them because they can't attract another girl and then get upset that their significant other did something everyone expected them to do. This happens with genders reversed too)

I haven't experienced any misandry and no one other than my ex has told me I'm disposable or given me any reason to think that way. Honestly, I feel like our country makes women feel more disposable if anything and teaches girls to hate themselves more than guys.

I've been belittled for being promiscuous but only about one hundredth as often as I've been complimented for it. In reality there's almost no stigma to be a promiscuous male and guys here complaining about it are shitting themselves, as you can see in any kind of media or story where guys are revered for being promiscuous.

I've seen people of both sexes be unfit to perform their job because of a combination of needing someone in the position, not having anyone better applying, and some kind of mutual attraction between someone in charge and the hired person. There are plenty of incompetent men who don't deserve their jobs either and might not have them if they were a girl. This is more of a case with women but only because there are so many men in charge -- it isn't that the whole country thinks mindless women should be in positions, there's just enough shitty people in charge of things that don't mind sacrificing efficiency to have someone to stare at, and more often than not it's a GUY who makes this choice.

No one tells me I don't have a voice when it comes to gender issues. People tell me I'm wrong all the time and say I hate all men or hate all women but that's because people are idiots and want to demonize anyone who disagrees with them. Topics involving women are much more touchy here and there are some laws and practices that are sexist, but the number of people on here who claim they don't have a voice because they have a penis is ridiculous -- having different expectations because of a gender role is nowhere close to the same thing as not having a voice at all when it comes to any discussion of sex. If you look at our country, the entire female population is being told what they can't do with their bodies by a group of men -- really men hold more power over this discussion.

We've all felt unequal here at different times, but again, it's mostly people having a victim complex than lots of forced and institutionalized sexism.

There are problems between sexes in America. But the reason you see so many threads on here about such a range of problems isn't because America is always trying to shit on guys constantly, it shits on girls way more honestly in a lot of ways. It's just a victim complex. Some of those issues are real and bad but people over exaggerate things like no bodies business (especially the friend zone thing. I've heard so many stories of guys being friend zoned when they just absolutely don't deserve to say anything like that. Again, legitimate cases happen, I've already been down voted by r/AskWomen for arguing that, but a majority of the cases you read about here don't stem from our country thinking men are worthless, it stems from pathetic males trying desperately to pin the blame on someone other than themselves so they can continue feeling secure that they're a desirable male despite the fact that they repeatedly run into this problem of not being desired -- therefore demonizing all women for being treacherous and misleading instead of dealing with the actual problem: you're not desirable because you're ridiculously beta and doing nothing to fix it. Guys who work on being desirable don't have this problem in America.)

I can't speak for all men of course. I know that some of these things aren't true -- I know men do get falsely accused of rape and I know that some men have problems with being revered as "creepy"... but it's not as wide spread as you'd make it out to be. I've never had anyone give me a bad look or anything when playing with children, it's about the only way I know people will always smile at me, and I'm very much a man. The reason some guys get crap is because of the worries about a creepy guy trying to rape a kid -- not every guy is demonized for playing with a kid, I've honestly only felt the opposite every time I've done it.

I really can't believe you even put the issues with your friends custody battle up there. I mean do you even realise how unfit that mother was obviously? Try a half normal women who doesn't kill her unborn childs brian cells. Statistics show you wouldn't get within a mile of even partial custody unless she felt like cooperating.

2 - I had one woman expect expensive gifts from me - I dropped her.

9 - Pre-nups are bullshit - and get thrown out in court. I have encountered this.

10 - I have been accused of being bitter for "not getting laid" - kind of along the same lines.

11 - I have encountered this on two occasions.

12 - I have never heard of any woman only events.

13 - I have - FALSE sexual harassment accusations. The upper hand was clearly hers. Simply because she found me "unattractive", or "annoying" - she got to lie all she wanted about my personal conduct.
