both on this subreddit and other places throughout the internet, whenever the topic of men's rights and MRA's gets brought up, i've seen lots of people wonder why mra's seem to be so against feminism, and here i'll try to explain why, but this will be from my point of view, since people have different reasons for their stance.

In my case, there are 2 reasons why i don't exactly have a good opinion about feminism. The first reason is because of feminist actions on the internet. I know that sounds vague, but let me explain. What i mean is how there's plenty of resources on the internet showing how feminists fight tooth and nail against progress for men's rights, such as how the National Organisation for Women, one of the most powerful feminist organisations, fought against joint custody for father's, or how feminists have protested against gender neutral rape laws, or how feminists have shut down men's rights events, or how feminists have sent death threats to dv researchers. when feminists engage in behaviours such as this, it's no surprise why a lot of mra's don't exactly want to associate with feminism.

The second reason is because of my personal experience. I sometimes used to go to online feminist spaces a lot to see what they were like, and posts and comments that demonised men as a whole group and about how men as a collective were a problem were all too common, and of course, whenever someone tried to disagree with them, no matter how polite they were and no matter how many facts they had to back up their claims, they were met with nothing but hostility and anger, with plenty of feminists going after them insulting them. In fact, one time i did leave a comment which wasn't necessarily anti-feminist per se, but it was a bit skeptical of feminism, and i had at least two comments attacking me about my personal life, purely because it didn't fully align with feminist views. Another time, at a family function, i stated that i cared about gender equality, but didn't call myself a feminist, and i was met with looks as if i had just admitted to committing one of the worst crimes possible. Additionally, i also witnessed feminists mocking and trivialising men that had gone through a horrible experience, like being SA'd. I'm sorry, but when all i have seen is people getting attacked just for merely disagreeing with feminist beliefs, i find it extremely hard to have good opinions about feminism.
