Why does Reddit collectively hate MensRights?

It's a combination of several things. There are those who believe that the MRM itself is unnecessary by nature, whether because they believe that men don't need a rights movement, that Feminism already covers men or that we're simply bitter losers lashing out against Feminism/women (in their eyes they're the same).

What happens with some frequency is that when people come here they already have expectations, usually bad ones, and anything that matches those expectations will look like a giant neon sign. So they come here and zone in on the people who're angry, upset or bitter and conclude that those people are representative of the sub because their insensitivity isn't being called out. Which brings us to:

If you're sensitive to harsh language and generalizations you'll find this sub very disagreeable. The harsh language is deemed necessary or irrelevant by some here because it's the essence/message, not the delivery/tone that counts. Generalizations are acceptable in cases where considering outliers would cause too much confusion or obfuscate the point being made/discussed. When generalizations are unfounded or unnecessary they'll be questioned, but not because they might be hurtfull to some people. Speaking of generalizations:

We mention Feminism and women a lot here because Feminism has been the voice for anything related to gender for decades and their focus has always been, and remains, women. Even if a significant portion of subs here weren't also anti-feminist any fruitfull discussion of men's rights without mentioning how they relate to Feminism or women is almost impossible. Sooner or later you're going to have to deal with Feminism if you want to do anything concerning gender.

It's a bit rambly, but I hope I helped a bit with my 2 cents.

They... don't, collectively. Opinion across all of Reddit is actually somewhat evenly mixed, from what I've noticed, and it depends on what sub-reddit you're in. SubRedditOfTheDay thinks we're the best thing to ever come out of Reddit. SRS does... not, to put it lightly.

Most of the time, it pretty much comes down to "Because other people told them to hate us".

Especially if they ever mention the SPLC. Nobody else takes the SPLC seriously.

It is hard to respond given the example you have chosen. It contains so many errors it is a bit amazing. But it does help illuminate quite a few other points.

I've responded to the person over there, but they are a bit deluded and uneducated.

They just makes claims and insist they are true. That could be because they as just dumb, but also you see the same pattern in people who are subjected to "undue Influence" and also "Thought Control".

This is interesting:

That sub reddit is shameful, plain and simple.

So they state a an opinion and follow it with a Thought-terminating cliché - language used to bolster and support the claim made and to reduce any cognitive dissonance such as knowing you don;t have sufficient exposure or knowledgeable to express that actual opinion.

It's a pattern that keeps on appearing in people defending feminist views. It's driven by emotion and not by logic and reason. This example shows matters well:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what I said. It is a documented hate group by the us gov. It is shameful.

1) They insist that they can not be in error. 2) they falsely claim that the us Gov sees the reddit as a hate group which is an error and very big 3) uses "It is shameful." as a Thought-terminating cliché to stop the cognitive dissonance for having made a claim they know they have not even checked.

When people act this way and are claiming that other people are in a hate group or involved in negative activity .... well the person making the claims is in fact more likely to be doing that themselves and due to Undue Influence and frank Though Control not be able to address their own internal issues.

The patterns are also common in Bullies and those who need to express personal power due to internal deficits.

Some people try really hard to discredit us. Most people here don't like feminists. Some people see that as anti-woman, when it really is just anti-feminist. They're not always the same thing.

The hate group stuff is just grasping at straws. Any intelligent person can see right through that lie.

They don't. Reddit doesn't collectively like or dislike anything - not even silly cat pictures, which seems like it would be the most example. However, redditors who do like or dislike specific things tend to be quite vocal about it, which I suspect is largely rooted in the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.

Since the topic of Men's Rights is politically incorrect, it provokes a reaction.

I think you pretty much said it already. The bad apples. There are definitely some misogynistic MRAs out there. They like to point fingers at any woman that ever does anything wrong, and go 'See? A bad woman. Fuck feminism!'. Which... eh... it's distasteful. They go out and pick fights with people on other subreddits.

Most of the well spoken MRAs out there kinda stick to MRA places. They don't typically go out and pick fights with people. If nobody goes to /r/MensRights, or any other MRM place, their interaction with MRAs is largely limited to the bigoted loutmouths that don't even get any respect within the MRM community.

In every group, in every movement, in every subreddit, there are good people and bad people. Good posts and bad posts. If you want to look at what a community is about? Look at what the respected members of the community is saying, not the people who are around just to start shit.

It's due to our instinctual need for our perceptions to all agree with each other. Everyone think's they're relatively intelligent/wise, so any perception of the world they had before is automatically right, until the proof that they're wrong is nearly rubbed in their face. Since feminism's so integrated into our society, the pre-existing perception of the world we live in includes basic tenets of feminism, so until the proof that feminism as it exists today is wrong is nearly shoved in their face, they will not accept that the MRM is anything but a hate group.

I can answer that question; we are easy targets because we visibly and vocally attack and raise awareness about an uncomfortable truth.

You can look everywhere and see the problems we discuss regarding males in Western society, but for genuine attention to be called to those problems and attempts to solve the same would cause a major dismantling of the status quo.

Look up the number of articles in the mainstream media attacking men who are eschewing the traditional male societal roles. The fact that men are walking away from fatherhood, marriage, and keeping their earnings for their own personal pleasure is troublesome to say the least.

Someone might dislike r/mr because it is more or less a subreddit where you can come to gripe about women, try to disprove sexual assault claims, come up with ego-psych justifications for inequalities between men and women, and post explanations of why no doesn't mean no.

To be fair to them, it is because feminism has a hold over the media and the debate. Anything that goes against feminism immediately makes them think of things the media has said anyone who goes against feminism is.

Ex. Homophobic, Racist, Women-Haters, etc.

Source: I told several people about the NCFM suing to have women as part of the draft. Their immediate reactions were of disgust, and all of them said they think the group is most likely full of Women-hating, homophobic racists.

One thing I have noticed irl is that people tend to collectively hate reddit because of r/mensrights. They usually dismiss reddit as collectively sexist and male dominated. Then they put their "this is what a feminist looks like" onesies on their babies and continue blaming "the patriarchy" for their bad choices.
