Compared to some other debate subs, this one is pretty lenient.

Without knowing what the comment was, it's hard to know why it got flagged, but I think I know which post you were replying to.

Just a guess, maybe it was a personal attack.

In general, we all need to be careful with the metaphors that imply the poster's a raging, ranting fool, no matter how obvious. If we're trying to match the ChallengeMyView subreddit, they actually seem to be able to stop themselves from spewing snark and sneaky vitriol.

How many of you still come here for the debate?

I come here very often to debate. Typically though, if I'm not stating my opinion on the thread, then I am looking for somebody who has a weak argument so I can refute their claim. I dislike weak arguments so it is fun when I take apart an argument and show the person why it was weak. I watch what they say to other users and if they seem to make a different claim to me that contradicts something they said when talking to another user on the same topic, then I use it against them.

However.... What I don't do is misquote people...... I'm looking at you /u/ProbablyBelievesIt. There are a number of people here who also agree with me and have seen you misquote others intentionally. Some of those who commented in this thread are even people who you have misquoted.

This isn't true. Not true at all. Plenty of Redpillers,and sometimes blue pillers, get their comments deleted, get warnings, bans, etc. I see it happen plenty of times.

Invalidating. Do not tell another user directly that the opinion expressed by them is incorrect. If a guy says, “I like a woman who can cook and clean” do not respond by saying, “No, you want a live-in servant.”

Name-calling. If you can't counter someone's argument without calling names, find another place to argue.

Off-topic. Try to stay focused.

No hearsay. You can't call someone a misogynist unless you cite a quote where he calls himself a misogynist.

From what I've seen, these specific reasons are why most comments are deleted and warnings are given out (because the comment fell into that category). Invalidating is probably the #1 reason why with name calling and hearsay in a close second.

At the end of the day, we all have to follow the rules, or at least some of the rules or else this sub would devolve into a massive cluster-fuck.

I come here for debates basically daily.

The way Reddit is set up makes it so that mods are dictators and their rules apply no matter how butthurt some vocal users become. There is no way around that.

Now show us how much responsibility you can actually take on and start /r/ProbablyBelievesItsSuperFairDebateSub!

Did you just start a thread for the sole purpose of complaining about one of your posts that consisted of personal attacks getting deleted? While complaining that people get to actually share their general opinions that you disagree with?

This should actually not be that supprising since it's a common attitude among progressives. "what this person said something I disagree with! time to call him names, attack him, try to dox him etc. What do you mean it's against the rules? Did you not notice him having bad thoughts and bad opinions! he literally said something politically incorrect, he is an unperson, of course we can attack him!"

I like you generally, but I remember you even intentionally modified quotes that I made. People using language you consider (potentially) offensive to other people isn't against the rules, unless it's attacking a specific user (or circlejerking).

Nobody 'proves' or 'disproves' anything here. Even if they did, why would it be against the rules to say things that are factually incorrect? Gonna start handing out bans when people make mistakes or aren't aware of a new study contradicting their claim? It would be impossible to manage.

They aren't. RPers regularly get comments deleted, warnings, bans, etc.

Instead of complaining about things you can't control (other people's behavior, the mods decisions), why not just stop using insults or personal attacks of any kind? It's much more effective to kill people with kindness on reddit, if you don't, discussions get ugly fast.

And seriously, again, misquoting people is really annoying, please don't do that.

I stopped giving "full effort" comments when the other person makes personal attacks repeatedly, sometimes assuming you are in certain group (e.g. claiming I'm red pill just because I'm arguing against a blue pill) then insulting the group to insult me.

Additionally, there's been a number of threads and comments where I see you, basically, be on the opposite side of the coin of your argument.

Also, for every annoying red piller there seems to be 5 annoying blue pillers, and while I have disagreements with both sides, it seems to be the blue pillers that are less capable to sticking to arguments in my experience.

Tbh if TRP stuff seems to fly and TBP counters don't it is probably an issue with the latter. That is most TBP responses come across as "I've been triggered jkdjfedfjdoi" and deviate far from intelligent discussion. First of all, i understand women's anatomy just fine. I'm very well aware that girls don't achieve an orgasm by getting jackhammered for 5 minutes.
