I started noticing this when I was around 16 but it took me a few years to actually realise it. People on the internet are often on the autism level of being overly dramatic, but because they can easily surround themselves with similar people, they start to believe they are normal.

I try to stay away from politics, but I remember the day Donald Trump won and tumblr was filled with teenagers panicking whats gonna happen now and how they gonna wake up tomorrow. Whats gonna happen with gay people and how are they gonna survive this. These people isolated themselves from society and surrounded themselves with people who believed in the exact same things. The have done so much damage to their overall world-view by just simply browsing the internet. But to not be biased, the same applies to /pol/. They talk about the fall of Western civilivazion. How its gonna collapse. They are people planning on buying a land and isolating themselves from the entire society to survive it. It's millennials complaining about millennials and the bottom of the barrel complaining about society.

The other thing I've noticed it is how these people always lack self-awareness and more importantly, life experience. I'm sure, even on this sub, there are people who never had a girlfriend talking about their future wife. People still in college, who can't even cook a meal on their own spend hours talking about how they gonna raise their kids. People at 18 who think they figured life out with absolutely no experience. People who look down on others despite being absolutely mediocre.

But it's not just about being hysterical. People on the internet amplify everything until it makes no sense. Like height. Being tall is attractive. But people act like its the only thing. Like strangers can tell an inch difference. That there are no ugly tall people. Fat, obese tall people. Dumb and poor tall people. Some people are desperately looking for excuses and others try to make themselves feel better. Both of these groups are doing the exact same thing, using statistics and pop-science psychology blog sites instead of bettering themselves and experiencing life. Like I'm tall, therefore I must be attractive, therefore I must be smart, therefore I must be successful, therefore I must be rich, therefore I must be a nicer person. If I'm not tall, I can't be attractive, so I can't be successful and further goes. This is such a desperate attempt for validation for both sides. And the scariest part is it works. Somehow. Doesn't matter that the richest person in the world is barely 5'7. Followed by 5'9. Followed by 5'7 again. No matter the amount of sex male symbols through history like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Matt Boomer, Jordan Barrett, James Dean, Jared Leto, Marlon Brando, Orlando Bloom. No matter the amount of people whose name remained like Winston Churchill, Napoleon, Albert Einstein. People will completely ignore this and desperately search for things that prove their agenda. The same obsession goes for virginity, girlfriends, first kiss and countless other things that matter a lot less in real life.

People are addicted to outrage and will look for things that made them mad. There is a fat, unattractive black girl one one wants and lives on a different continent. But she tweeted about how she doesnt like short guys! Damn, day is ruined. What to do now? People take the internet way too seriously and start it early. They get so much agenda in their head so when they start gaining life experience they will look everything through a lens.

Tldr: I can personally say that nothing in my life has been half as hard or dramatic as the internet has claimed. I spent countless hours arguing with people and I regret every one of them. The only thing the internet made me realise is that I shouldn't take the internet seriously. People should get out more, gain experience and talk about those instead of talking about things they havent done. People are too afraid to make mistakes that they end up doing nothing. Without the internet most of the problems people talk about in this sub wouldnt even exist. More people should take a look of the attitude of their grandpa. Taking responsibility and doing things, instead of talking about them. Stop acting like the world is over and society is gonna collapse because of a personal problem. My grandparents divorced. My grandpa lived with a different women for a decade. Eventually, they got back together. They still argue a lot, but they love each other. The world did not end. No one can escape problems and overreacting only makes things worse.
