It's an interesting factoid I read recently: apparently humans and domesticated sheep are the only mammalian species which displays exclusive homosexuality. If any zoologists are available to confirm or deny this, that would be great.

Anyway, it's well understood that domesticated animals tend to pick up genetic abnormalities with every new generation. Because they live outside the wild and have no predators, the traits that were beneficial in their natural habitat begin to degrade.

With artificial insemination, animals whose genes would never reproduce in the wild survive and thrive.

What relevance does that have for humans?

Well, here's some things most modern humans in the west have in common with domesticated sheep:

For the last 500 generations, we have been living outside our species' natural habitat. We live in a deliberately-designed habitat that eliminates almost all predators. For hundreds of generations, our females have been forced to reproduce with males without her having any choice (in humans, this is usually only true of the upper classes, but if you go back far enough, it's certain that several of your ancestors were queens and princesses, forced into sham marriages for political purposes, so every human on earth has this as part of his genetic heritage). In both species, childhood mortality is vastly lower than in the wild, meaning kids who in nature would never have reached childbearing years will now enter the gene pool, maybe bringing catastrophic mutations with her.

So, combining the following two reasonable speculations:

1: What if the ability to desire sex properly, be motivated to pursue it and be resilient when things go wrong are genetically determined and, if you carry the wrong mutations, impossible to achieve? 2: What if the cumulative effects of all the above phenomena have left us with a very large cohort of people who are essentially sexually disabled? The explosion of the asexual identity in recent years is consistent with this line thought.

WGTOW, for example. However much you may despise MGTOW, and many of them give good reason, this much is true: if any MGTOW was able to get laid with minimal effort, he'd quit whining for a minute. It's genuinely hard for him to get laid.

WGTOW are all of that bullshit, minus the excuse that it's actually a difficult challenge.

After reading the tenth "nobody else was able to make me cum in my five decades of failed relationships" I thought, "maybe evolution is trying to tell you something. Maybe you're just not put together right for fucking".

Incels and deadbedrooms need no explanation of how they might be an expression of this.

Finally, it's only a couple of decades since child mortality really fell rapidly across the world, so it would make sense that we'd be seeing big changes now that the kids and grandchildren are being born of people who would have died in infancy circa 1900, but because they were born in 1965 survived to adulthood.

Anyway what are the implications of this, if true?

I'll up the ante: what if we could isolate the mutations, and ensure they don't recur in future generations?
