It's partly true. The part that's false is the revenge fantasy bit. The truth is that they never "grow up" and regret rejecting mr nice guy. They still pine for mr asshole and mr thug, but settle for mr nice guy because asshole/thug won't even use her for sex anymore.

They then grow to resent mr nice guy and end up cheating on him and leaving him.

In the end, everybody loses except asshole and thug.

The part that’s so funny about this meme is that the “good man” is just like her: he gets stupidly attached to pursuing the “bad girls” when he’s young, then gets bitter and angry that he couldn’t lock that same girl down in his youth.

This dude spent his youth pining for women who are hot, flirty and fun, but who have weak character and make poor life choices. Then he finally decides when he’s past 30 that he wants to marry the boring plain “good girl” who he doesn’t actually like.

It has some truth to it but it is obviously exaggerated. I also don't think they ever actually regret not choosing the supposed good guy. What they actually resent/regret is not being able to get one of the more attractive and fun guys to commit. The supposed "man they would have married" can jump off a bridge for all they care.
