But I've already grown up with society treating me as a woman. So I wouldn't truly be experiencing life as a man. The biological change would not erase societal influences on my mental and psychological development.

I'd definitely be a man. I'm already tall so I wouldn't have to worry about losing out in the genetic lottery, and I would love to be respected in the way that only men seem to be able to achieve. I could be intimidating, forward, and assertive and other people would respond to that. I wouldn't fear being in public as much, because men aren't valued by their appearance and I would also have the physical strength to protect myself. Also having a giant clit sounds amazing.

The only thing holding me back would be my desire to get pregnant and give birth one day. Being a mother seems much more meaningful from my perspective.

As for why I'd swap off... Well, as much as I like flirting with my own gender I'm mostly straight, so it would be the ultimate masturbatory act. I'd get to make believe being an idealized version of the masculinity I usually only express in RPGs or my cheesy self indulgent fiction.

The upper body strength would be kinda cool. I think it would be fun to see what a penis is like and have a male orgasm. I don't think I'd stay that way because my Gentleman is so straight you could use him to test rulers and I'm rather attached to him.

Also I've had a lifetime to adjust to a female body and I think this one is kinda nice. It took me a while to learn how to dress it properly and it would be a PITA to learn a whole new set of grooming skills and body language. Since a lot of my hobbies have been shaped by people's perception of my lady body, I'd probably be a really girly man if I got stuck that way.

I'm a man, BP, and would stick with being a man, partially because as a scientist who wants to go into research there's a slightly condescending attitude about women that's yet to die out in the field, and because the idea of periods and childbirth don't appeal to me in the slightest.

Also, assuming that we'd be living the same lives but gender switched, I wouldn't want to risk losing my partner; he is bi, but he has a general preference for men and it would be a pity to risk throwing away a good thing.

I have cross dressed and spent time as a man. I found the default of respect very liberating. I am also a published author under a male nom de plume, after multiple rejections under my given name. Being a "man" opened up a lot of doors for me.

My current place in life is that of a mother though, and cross dressing is much harder to pull off as you get older, so I doubt I'll be going back there.

I'm not into permanent physical changes. Even easy stuff like tattoos or piercings. So no, I wouldn't have a sex change.

RP man: I couldn't be a straight woman because I find men repulsive. I think lesbians have at least as much trouble getting laid as straight men, and I'd miss what I consider actual sex. Society's built to be a lot easier on women than men as far as social interactions go, I think. Also, they're more likely to get entry level jobs like waitress and hostess, especially if they're good looking. I suppose I'd have to ask how attractive I'd be, too. Most people like their gender not because of the perks and privileges attached, but because it's a core part of their identity and how they view themselves. You can't just rewire yourself, but even if the operation did that, then going through with it is a kind of suicide as it erases who you were previously.

I'm male, and I would say I'm reddish. I love being a man, and I identify with traditional roles. One reason I dislike most modern feminism is because I have always wanted to protect my friends and family, to provide for a kind feminine woman, and be emotionally and physically strong for those around me. I know women and men both have advantages and disadvantages, but I am proud to shoulder the responsibilities I feel I have as a man. My attempts achieve these goals are often met with derision however.
