I see The Red Pill talking about hypergamy.

A lot.

[All the time.] (http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1xm4a4/tales_of_hypergamy_recursive_game/)

[You guys really hate this stuff!] (http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1c0hcy/now_this_is_hypergamy_in_action/)

But it takes two to tango.

If you bag a trophy wife with no real education, ambition or skills, it can't be all that shocking when you end up paying $2000/month in alimony after a divorce.

Not only that, but why shouldn't you pay alimony? A stay-at-home mom (or dad!) sacrifices everything, her career, her independence, her life so she can rear your children, cook your meals and clean your house. In the (likely) event of a divorce, is it fair for her to just get kicked to the curb with no financial assistance whatsoever because she chose to spend that time taking care of you?

She could've been out earning her degree, learning a trade or opening a small business. Nope, instead she's at home cleaning the spit-up off your carpet and taking the kids to and from school while you, the man, spend the next ten years building your portfolio and generally gaining economic power.

So, TRP... why are you so against hypergamy? No one is forcing you to marry a woman of a lower caste or status than you. Why not marry a woman of equal or greater status? Why not marry a woman who's as successful as you?

It's not uncommon. In fact, there are more women in college now than there are men. So, it's not like there aren't any educated, employable, financially independent women out there. What gives?

I've heard some guys say, "Women refuse to marry a man who doesn't make more money than her!"

In 4 out of every 10 American households with children under 18, the female is the primary breadwinner.

That's nearly half!

Wow, it's almost like men and women are, like, equal or something...

EDIT: I'd like to point out why I made this post.

I am female. My husband is currently working a pretty decent job to put me through school. I told him when we got married that my ultimate goal is to become an industrial engineer. I'm currently a sophomore, and he has been paying the bills while I enroll full-time.

I made this post because I so appreciate how much he's sacrificing to help me reach my goals. He is very much looking forward to being a stay-at-home dad and I am very excited to start my career. I know that I could not have children AND a high-paying job without him. I am so grateful. If, heaven forbid, we have kids in 5 years and get divorced in 10 or 20, I have no doubt in my mind that I would do everything in my power to support him. He would be entitled to the money I earn because I would not be capable of it without him. Additionally, he's putting his career on hold FOR ME. That means so much...

So I don't understand why men bitch and moan about alimony, and I'm just sitting here, a woman, perfectly content with it.

TL;DR: I'm a young, married female who will one day make dollah-dollah bills yall because my husband will take care of babies and put me through school so I don't understand why men who are in my situation complain about paying their wives alimony.

EDIT2: Just so you guys know, I am not referring to "extreme" or completely unreasonable cases. I am aware that women frequently and thoroughly buttfuck men in divorce proceedings to uphold an outrageous standard of living (who needs 40k/year?!). I wrote this while reflecting on my personal situation with my husband and myself, which seems to me like a pretty typical "one spouse works while the other makes babies" scenario, but with traditional gender roles switched.
