Inspired to post after engaging in the ongoing rape debate.

So, presumably we all grew up hearing that "no means no" when it comes to sex. As a female, I've taken that very seriously. I've never said "no" and meant "yes." I've never said "I don't want to do this" and meant the opposite. Thankfully, I've also never encountered a man who has significantly pushed my boundaries.

I'm struggling to accept that last-minute resistance is a common trend amongst women, and I'm interested in PPD's thoughts on the matter. (Before anyone goes there, I'm not a SJW and I've never required verbal consent before sex. That's not what this is about.)

So, I turn it over to you: in your opinion or experience, does "no" at times mean "yes?" Similarly, is "last-minute resistance" a common thing that you've encountered? If you have encountered it, how did you determine that "no meant yes" in that instance? If a person's words are not to be trusted, how do you know for sure when a person actually means "no"?
