Not sure where to post this to get the discussion I want going. Might be a bit ranty so be warned, but I wanna get this out and discuss it to make myself feel better.

This OnlyFans creator with 130,000 followers on twitter is complaining that a selfie not getting enough likes "directly impacts her income". This person does exceedingly well on OnlyFans from what I can measure, being able to make a living off of content creation alone, enough to afford international travel and hotels, etc (they are currently in New York from Australia, for example).

By using OnlyFans own calculator, if only 1-5% of her followers subscribe, she is making 15,000-75,000 per month on subscription alone (not selling ppv content). Is it irrational for me to think this person is out of touch for complaining about the "impact" one underperforming selfie has while they are able to travel the world and afford themselves luxuries and trinkets based solely off the income of them selling naked selfies and videos of them masturbating? Sure, to produce "content" takes time and effort, but can one really say that making a 2 minute video of yourself masturbating and putting a watermark on it is comparable to the effort put in by labourers, or hell, even someone who makes fast food or stocks a shelf all day? That 2 minute effort for video has the potential to generate passive income each and every time you sell it, and if you have the following already, probably makes you more than some people take home on a weekly/monthly basis depending on how well it sells. Maybe in the beginning if you're creating a sex work page from the ground up with no following there is a lot of startup work with little reward, but if you have an established following, it really isn't harder than posting a selfie every other day or two with your tits in it and maybe mindlessly DMing a few horny dudes. Hardly comparable to the output of say, a factory worker or labourer, yet they still have the chutzpah to complain about their easy-mode source of income. It's not "discouraging" that a selfie you posted to your sex work page didn't do the numbers you thought it would. God forbid you sell a few less videos this month and won't be able to afford anime figures, hair dyes, and gaming chairs. How about the discouraging fact that tons of people bust their ass 40 hours a week and are one missed paycheque from being unable to pay their bills? Entire industries have been/are being fucked by Coronavirus and you're "discouraged" your Onlyfans income might be affected. Try getting a job. Jesus fucking Christ.

I ended up leaving a long twitter reply to them explaining my thoughts, but I wanted to get a discussion about it going too.

Side note, I don't think most men are jealous that Onlyfans creators make money, but if you dig deeper you might find that men are jealous that it seems easier for women to get positive attention and compliments for just existing, but ever since becoming men, the real world rarely gives attention/lusts after grown men solely for their beauty or to be intimate with them. To see hordes of people thrusting attention upon women for simply existing and posting attractive photos probably feels unfair. I think this post put it well.
