So I've been reading through some of the posts on here for a couple of days and I wanted to share some of my thoughts on rather whether "confidence" or physical attractiveness matters more. Here's the thing, two things can be true at the same time.

Is it true that improving your physical appearance can help you get your foot in the door and possibly give you more dating opportunities? Yes. Is it also true that average looking or fat guys are also successful in dating attractive women? Yes. But here's where the disconnect is.

People keep saying that it's all about "confidence" and "personality" when the reality is, those two things are much harder to develop as opposed to a guy developing his physique in the gym. Also, everyone's "confidence" levels are not exactly the same. "Confidence" is not something you can just pull out of your ass when you wake up in the morning.

"Confidence" comes from mastery and positive reinforcement. A man who is conventionally attractive will have more "confidence" due to the positive receptiveness that he receives in his interactions with women. An average looking or ugly guy that has an attractive wife/girlfriend has "confidence" because of his mastery of attracting women with his social skills.
