It's a good question, and one I don't think anyone can answer properly, as it's impossible to voluntarily switch genders, of course.

Part of me is genuinely content to be male, and I wouldn't change that for anything. But also I do really like sex, and I could get more of that easier as a woman, so maybe that'd be nice.

Age is also a factor of course, and looks. Since we're dealing in the impossible, we are talking about being hot and 20-something, right? Because I would not wish to be an old woman. Ever.

What do I gain by becoming a woman?

I am much more likely to be able to acquire some sort of intimacy on a regular basis, whether it be physical or mental
I am much less likely to be thought of as scary, dangerous, threatening, or creepy, across the board
I can put far less effort into my appearance and maintain a higher relative SMV (to the equivalent man)
I can get positive attention any time
I can get free things, better treatment, extras, etc. based on my gender (for example, girls not paying for alcohol in college because the guys are willing to buy it for that shot at hooking up)
I can marry a guy and share his social status without ever having to network or build my own status, if I don't want to

There's a lot more obviously, but those, I would say, are some main big advantages.

Disadvantages?

My accomplishments may feel more hollow as my having agency is somehow a subject of debate
Even if I lift and learn some self defense, I will never be as strong as the strongest set of men, and thus would be physically beholden to them (regardless of the lack of this in society, the potential is there)
I will, at times, not be taken seriously due to my gender, even if I have something important or relevant to say
I will never be able to escape the constant attention of male suitors (It's incredibly hard to imagine this as a bad thing, as a guy, but I have to assume it can get very, very old)

This one is a bit of a separate point, and note that this is just my anecdotal experience, no stats or evidence or anything, so take it as you will

I am far less likely to be intellectually curious, whether that is due to nature or nurture

That's probably the #1 reason for me. Yeah, sure, there are plenty of women who are intellectually curious, but the proportion is, I would say, far smaller than for men. Most guys, I could find some interesting 'big thought' topic we'd both be interested in (sexual dynamics in the modern age, the morality/justice of parents forgetting children in cars, drug law reform, difficult ethical hypotheticals, etc. etc.), but I feel that so many girls/women simply have no interest whatsoever in deeply reflective and argumentative thought. I spend a huge amount of time reflecting and thinking and analyzing different parts of life, culture, society, people, ethics, I just can't imagine not having a deeply rooted, strong curiosity.

I have a few friends who are women and most of my cousins are women.

From my observations most women aren't on easy street.

I think a small percentage of women have some exciting rich guy taking care of them, the rest are scratching out a living like men and have their own life challenges to deal with.

This is the male version of the apex fallacy.

I'm happy being a man and I don't think the grass is any greener being a woman.

I dislike these threads because they turn into circle jerks where blue pills say "yeah well we have to deal with labour, periods and rape, yeah you heard me rape. Male oppression my ass."

This is then used as justification not to listen to any MRA points, since few people can think of anything worse that can happen to someone than rape.

No, because if I wasn't a man, I wouldn't be me. I'd be an entirely different person. Gender is a huge part of anyone's identity. Asking if I'd rather have been born a woman is like asking if I'd rather have never existed.

I still believe life is easier for a woman (I don't mean life is easy, just easier). Most people would agree it's easier to be born white in America than it is to be black. But how many black Americans do you think would say they'd have rather been born white?

I'll stay a guy. I can't imagine how shitty it would be to have the first half of your life being the center of attention and then the second half be invisible.

Also, I would rather be the one who's value goes up as I age not down.

For the sake of argument, assume you would be attractive and intelligent

Under this condition absolutely I'd be a woman. Being an attractive woman is probably the best position to be in the Western world.

But if the attractiveness is not guaranteed then it really makes no difference what your gender is. The mistake TRP often makes is to look at the lives of attractive women and assume it must apply to all women.

I can really only answer this question based on my opinions and experiences as a man. I have no female opinion to give, and no neutral opinion. So I can't answer it objectively.

That being said, I place a very high value on accountability, loyalty, trust, honor, and dignity. Perseverance. Discipline. Self-control. These are not traits I see women focusing on. So no, the person I am now wouldn't want to be a woman.

I would not choose to be a woman. I feel many women are slaves to their emotions which often defies rational or productive thought. When feelings take hold of the steering wheel of your life it results in a lot of bad and stupid shit. Women have pluses and minuses just like men.

I can't fully appreciate food because I've never starved. Same with sex. I would choose to have been born a woman, but the female version of me wouldn't understand how bleak a man's life can be. She'd probably worry about shit that's way down my list of priorities (food, shelter, sex, other).
