What is your standard wait time for a response? How does response/wait time effect how you view the person?

This is the biggest problem with this post. It's not a very realistic condition.

We're talking about casual dating or a new relationship, so it's not a big time commitment. Say I only have two nights a week available. If I'm talking to one girl only, I can spend two evenings with her. If I'm talking to two girls, I can spend one evening with girl #1 and one evening with girl #2.

It's hard to envision a scenario where I'm so time constrained that I can't casually date two girls. Obviously it becomes more of a problem as you add on more girls, but you should be able to juggle two.

I’m not the smartest so I try to keep things simple; first come; first served. When younger I didn’t really think much about texting. Response times. As an adult, I’m pretty direct. If I text, and don’t hear back within a reasonable timeframe, I’d move on. 24 hours is more than reasonable.

As to the second, I’ve sent texts, and emails years apart, and gotten outcomes. So I’m not too fazed if they respond, or not. Yet 24 hours would be again be reasonable, for another person to reject me.

I think if you haven't gotten any response two days later, you should assume you're being ghosted and move on. Maybe stretch it to three if you know the person is exceptionally busy.

I don't see why you couldn't go on a date with person 1 and person 2. I would still meet up with person 2 just to see what they're like. Chances are you won't click with either or both people anyway.

I wouldn't keep dating several people beyond the early days of dating, because that's exhausting and time consuming. But you can at least meet them both and see how you jive together.

I’m not really sure why you’re waiting for anyone.. you’re not committed to people just because you go on a date with them.

This isn't realistic, because you'd just make time. But I'll play along.

How long are you waiting for the first person to respond with an answer, before pursuing the second?

6 hours. If I've text after a date and the person hasn't responded in 6 hours (not including sleep time, obviously), I'd interpret it as disinterest.

Say you end up going with the second person and the first person responds saying they would like to see you too. What is your reaction?

I'll see where it goes. Their lax response time could have been a one-off. Person 2 is where I'd be putting most of my effort though, in that scenario.

Say someone texts you wanting to see you again but you don't respond right away for whatever reason. How long would you expect them to wait for an answer before moving on?

There's no too soon. Do whatever you want. There's also nothing wrong with having more than one avenue open at the same time.

If I propose a specific date and time and wait for a response? A day or two if it's within a week. Then I usually fill that term with something else and either it can be moved or not. Maybe 3-4 days, if it's a date within a month, where the meeting requires more preparation, a longer trip, etc.

But, never cut off a personal connection, or a business connection.

You never know how the cards will fall in the future.

Don't ghost people; try and get them on your FB friends list, or contacts, whatever. Look 'em up in six months if you aren't doing anything.

I always reply to everyone as soon as I can, which might mean immediately or several hours later or the next day, depending on how busy I am, what I am doing (I don't tend to look at my phone when I am in company) and whether I can give a firm answer yet (my timetable can get a bit complicated). I always prefer to give a firm answer to meeting up (a time and place) rather than a vague "let's meet up sometime this week".

However, if someone takes several days to reply, I take the medium as the message and focus my attention elsewhere.

I put minimal meaning on texting. I'll reply within a day unless it's something urgent (but like then just call), so propably something like that.

I don't know. Until I get impatient waiting? It's difficult to put an actual time amount on it. I don't think that I'd wait very long, though. I usually expect quick texts from people.

I check my phone a lot, so I usually try to reply to texts within an hour. If I didn't text back for an hour and that person moved on, then I'd understand it.

I'd just pursue both (that's what I'm currently doing). If I do eventually become exclusive with 1 girl, then I'll drop the rest.
If she doesn't respond within 24 hours, I assume it's over.

As I am a person who doesnt like the whole casual dating thing, I would wait 2 days for person 1 to respond. If they dont, I simply say "It was nice meeting you" and unmatch and then go with person 2.

I always try to set up when/what we are going to do next time on the current date, if they really are into you they'll play along. You can always reschedule things after.

This way you don't have to spend this stupid game of waiting for a response.
