My niece was recently adopted by my parents after her mother was sent to prison for drugs. I have recently moved to be closer to my folks as my father is having health issues and I am the oldest so I feel it's my duty to help in any way I can. The first night Cali wet the bed and when she woke up started crying and I didn't know why. I came into her room to see what was going on. She begged me not to spank her because she had an accident. My heart shattered at the thought of the terror she felt knowing that she wet the bed and was possibly gonna be beat for it. I had to spend half an hour explaining to her that it was just an accident and that we could easily clean it up and that if she needs to just get up in the nighttime if she has to use the bathroom. To which she replied, "Mommy's bf said I couldn't get out of bed at night." I just don't even want to think of the life she was living before moving to be with us. I just know that however long that road is to get her to a good place I will take the trip.

As a father of two, thank you, and it breaks my heart the shit this person went through before.

[–]DannyVxDx 58 points59 points60 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I need to hug my daughter after reading that.

[–]FreshErich 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Take my upvote and my gratitude that you're making the world a better place. ❤️

[–]becooltheywatching 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Idk If I am making the world a better place. What I do know is I will guide her to one. Thank you for your upvote.

[–]FreshErich 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm lying here at naptime with my two year old and I'm not gonna lie, your story made me shed a tear. I don't understand how someone can be so awful to a child.

[–]becooltheywatching 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same. I truly don't understand it.

[–]Bdazz 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same. Adults can do shitty things to each other all the time and...whatever. But kids didn't ask for any of this.

[–]FreshErich 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I know of one little girl whose world is definitely better today.

[–]becooltheywatching 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She's sitting next to me with a juice box and carrots. So I think it's going pretty good so far. It is weird that I am taking care of a child as I have never wanted any myself. I'll tell you what tho. Looking at those big brown eyes blasting at me when I walk in the door makes me wonder what I have been missing.

[–]AdamTheAntagonizer 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You're feeding her carrots? That basically qualifies as torture

[–]becooltheywatching 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Shit, lock me up. Lmfao

[–]TearyEyeBurningFace 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You get a pass if they come with ranch. I hate raw carrots tho. Celery is where it's at

[–]reddituseranyonymous 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Youre a good aunt/uncle.

[–]Drkhrs16 129 points130 points131 points 4 years ago (120 children) | Copy Link

Thank God she’s with you guys now

[–]pebdiddy 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (119 children) | Copy Link

Nah. ‘god’ watched as that poor child got beaten and threatened. I thank the justice system for jailing those who hurt her, and her loving family for taking the child into their home and raising her.

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 48 points49 points50 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

God didn’t allow anything. These shitty humans did shitty things. Why is the blame being placed on a god you guys don’t believe in?

[–]jfractal -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Maybe it's because religious people attribute everything good to God, and everything evil to Satan...both of which are make-believe.

[–]FoliumInVentum 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

hot take

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right, so you’re gonna blame something you don’t believe in, for actions caused by shitty people? Makes sense lol

[+]Uptown_NOLA -9 points-8 points-7 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not necessarily. Every time a tornado takes out a trailer park and improves the gene pool it's an "act of God."

[–]illHavetwoPlease 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Like Hurricane Katrina? Was that pool cleanup?

[–]Uptown_NOLA -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You people have no sense of humor. Right over you little head.

[–]zayismyname 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So removing poor people is *improving the gene pool"?

[–]napkin-lad 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If he had nothing to do with it then why thank him? It was humans that saved the child.

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lots of people, even those that don’t believe in him, use the expression thank god when something like this happens. I’d say it’s more of just an expression at this point then actually thanking god

[–]ReeDrumpfIsRaycis 46 points47 points48 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Hey, non believer here.

God gave man free will to do with what they want.

Some people chose to go to Satan, and did evil. Thus the fall. The child is innocent and the blame lies squarely on the person doing the evil. Not God, because God's existence is unlikely.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

[–]TranceAddictFoX 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

How are you going to start by saying you're a non-believer then immediately state "god gave man free will"?

[–]ReeDrumpfIsRaycis 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's almost like hypotheticals for the sake of argument doesn't exist. It's literally a point that you can concede that does not matter at all, yet you latch onto it.

I can avoid having the pro god people bring up god at all by letting them have the premise from the beginning. It's not rocket surgery son, whether god exists or not really doesn't matter at all, we're talking about the words in a book. That's what the words in the book say. Now kindly get the fuck out of my face.

[–]Coldest_Pillow 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol damn. I found your Ted Talk clear cut and understandable. Your second comment to the turd I found hilarious.

[–]kraken9911 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe the context is he's speaking from what he knows of the rules written by the church. I can talk about Allah and what the Quran states is Allah's will but that doesn't make me a Muslim.

[+]neverfearbeginning -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Free will isn't nearly the answer to the Problem of Evil that a lot of people think it is.

[–]KingPiperine 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Can you elaborate further?

[–]CF1001 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

From a believer:

The problem of evil is that if God exists and He is wholly good and all powerful he cannot create a world in which evil exists. The idea of free will as an answer to the problem is that free will is good so God must create that and a necessary implication of free will is that evil must exist, so it is not God creating evil but rather humans who are responsible.

This argument is full of holes though, firstly not all evil is man made. A hurricane can kill hundreds or thousands of innocents though no choice was made by any human.

Secondly, even when Humans make evil choices God still allows for innocents to pay the consequences of those choices. Just because God believes we should have the freedom to choose how we act does not mean that it is not evil for Him to allow innocents to suffer for those actions.

Finally, the manner in which we act is preordained, not entirely “free.” Even if you have an element of choice your immediate circumstances, life history and biology are already “chosen” for you and you are limited by the hand you are dealt. If you act along predetermined you are not free.

[–]KingPiperine 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So do you believe God has evil in him? Thanks for the detailed response btw.

[–]CF1001 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t really believe in evil. I just think things happen and they can be positive or negative things to us. I don’t think God intervenes in our lives. I think good and evil are too simple a concept to apply to natural processes.

[–]Argama1985 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean, have you read the old testament? Dude was sadistic before having his kid.

[–]neverfearbeginning 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If we take that free will necessarily entails that suffering must be allowed, there's some interesting questions that crop up:

  1. Do people in heaven have free will?

If they do, then it doesn't necessarily follow that free will requires suffering, as you can have free will without suffering in heaven. If people in heaven suffer, then what's the difference between heaven and earth?

  1. Why do beings that ostensibly lack free will (i.e. Non-human animals) suffer for the fact that some beings have free will?

This one is more of a statement that seeks to contradict the idea of an all-powerful all-loving God through pointing out suffering that seems wholly needless if we take the view that granting humans free will is what causes them to be able to suffer.

[–]HipsterJudas 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

But God is also omnipotent and all knowing, meaning no one ACTUALLY has free will as he knows everything that will happen before it does. That book of contradictions sure is confusing, huh?

[–]NorcoXO 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Look I don’t believe any of the nonsense either but what a terrible argument. If god does exist he is outside this observable universe, presumably, or exists on a higher dimension or whatever. We are fairly isolated from any God if there are any. Therefore, the fact that he hypothetically knows everything before it happens is completely irrelevant to our existence, thus free will is still an accurate idea. As long as he isn’t controlling our movements like puppets but simply views us from a spyglass without constraints of time, how can anyone say that affects whether or not we have free will anyway?

[–]HipsterJudas 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't for a second believe you're a non-believer, but supposedly our actions here on earth directly correlate with what happens after we die, if you believe that. If the being that decides where we go after we die already knows what we choose before we even do so, the game is rigged from the start.

[–]TinyRightNut -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

God is a concept to believe in that gives life order and meaning.

Sincerely, an atheist who's not a jackass about it.

[–]Mydeaddadsweed 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Everyone should believe in something greater and more righteous than themselves. Could be anything. Just believe.

There is nothing after death. Just think about it.

[–]Turbo_Fox_Hunter -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The atheist zealot is so faithful that there isn't a God that he would fight anyone who doesn't believe the way he does. Because religion is bad.

Does anyone see irony anymore?

[–]pebdiddy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn’t say anything about how sure I am there is no god. All I said was that anyone who claims to know what happens after we die is full of #@#&. Maybe there is a god. I just hope it isn’t the god of the Bible.

[–]NorcoXO -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]spanktervision111 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm with you. I'm an atheist and under the same mindset. But, I always get my message drowned out when I dismiss or discard what others believe. Be yourself and live your life. But be careful; people stop listening to what you have to say when you preface with an insult. Even if it's absolutely true, it's normally a divisive act in my experience.

[+]webhiker -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (61 children) | Copy Link

Yeah agreed, fuck your god if it allows this to happen to children.

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

God didn’t allow anything. These shitty humans did shitty things. Why is the blame being placed on a god you guys don’t believe in?

[–]ThatOneC_O 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago* (18 children) | Copy Link

Because God is described as being all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving. Either he didn't know it was happening, allowed it to happen and could do nothing, or chose not to do anything.

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (17 children) | Copy Link

Right, but you don’t believe in him. So why blame him, or even bring it up

Edit: All I’m saying is if you believe in him, you know that he understands things that you don’t. If you don’t believe in him, his inaction shouldn’t bother you, as you know he doesn’t exist.

[–]ThatOneC_O 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Because people who use god or faith as a crutch are actively holding the world back. If people stopped believing in some magical afterlife bullshit maybe, just maybe everyone could pull their heads out of their asses and we could start fixing the one opportunity we have at existence. Wars have been raged, countries destroyed, millions slaughtered all at the request of some vindictive asshole in the sky. Religion, real or fake, is a tax on the human lives that are currently on the planet.

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Nope not at gods request. It is at the request of shitty people who claim to know the word of god. Honestly if you take Christianity at it’s most basic principles it would be great if the entire world believed. Love thy neighbour, and leave it up to god to judge who should be damned.

People doing shitty things in the name of god, are still shitty people. They just found something to hide behind. Make no mistake, the warmongering kings would have still waged those wars if they were non believers.

[–]gods-dead-let-it-go -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Just adding my 2 cents even if nobody gives a fuck: it’s Christianity followers who sexually abused me as a kid. Where was god then? Also, Christianity is one of the most violent religions to ever walk the earth. That is all.

[–]KingPiperine 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ahh, yes. I too grow tired of the roving Christian death squads executing the infidels all around the world in every country.

[–]constantly-sick 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Wait, doesn't god allow everything though?

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Do you believe in god? If not then god doesn’t exist so he can’t be around to allow anything.

[–]constantly-sick 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I thought god existed regardless of my belief.

[–]AC-AnimalCreed 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Well if god is real, he is real regardless what you believe. However if you don’t believe in him, blaming shit on him makes it seem like you do believe in him.

[–]Praxxah 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but fuck you two for being pedantic over a phrase. It's not important here, do that shit somewhere else.

[–]Praxxah 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm going to tell my grandkids about that one time I was mildly mean to some strangers on reddit.

[+]dexmonic -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't to mention it was for being pedantic. Kids love those kind of stories.

[–]webhiker -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks Nanny McFee. I'm sure you reported the original poster for bringing their hurtful, non-inclusive belief systems into reddits where "it's not important here"? Hypocrite.

[–]Praxxah 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I didn't say anything about beliefs, that's a conversation you're having over a tragedy and I'm not taking part in any of that.

[–]rstar345 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Oh look edgy atheists speaking up when no when asked them too

Would you just shut your fucking face? Stop cluttering my screen with your stupid remarks. I know you think you look clever here, but really you just look like an asshole. Kindly go jerk yourself off somewhere else.

Who the fuck are you to tell me to shut my fucking face!? Did my little 1-line statement really clutter up your screen? Maybe you need a bigger monitor or you need to turn down your font size. You're the asshole here, so fuck off and go piss your pants, kid.

It may be ‘just an expression’ to you, but Some people are taught this from the day they are born (including me). I think now is exactly the time to call these suppositions out. I agree with Christopher Hitchens... Religion Poisons Everything.

Why is abusing a child wrong?

[–]VenomB 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just know that however long that road is to get her to a good place I will take the trip.

With some luck, she'll improve quickly. All it takes is a guiding hand. Kids have a hard time changing their world view, so its incredibly important to help he understand her freedoms and what is or isn't allowed.

How god damn heartbreaking.

[–]Nonzfren 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Unclesmekky 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

How is she now ?

[–]becooltheywatching 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I wish I could truly say she is better now. But things she does thing's that worry me. For instance, at dinner time she retreats to her room and I have to work to get her to the table and I really don't know why she does this. It's frustrating because she can eat no problem but the lead up to it is quite a struggle and my mother is focused on my Dad and I am left to deal with it and I really have no clue how to fix this problem. I'm basically learning as I go. But That's life i guess.

[–]BoreDominated 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps her previous parents were very strict regarding how she ate (i.e. if she spilled anything or didn't use utensils correctly she'd be beaten), if you haven't already maybe you could ask her if she's worried about the way she eats at the table causing her to be punished? Just a guess, kids are strange sometimes but if she has a history of abuse, there's no telling what sort of scars that type of treatment left.

[–]becooltheywatching 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

That's what worries me. I fear she will need professional help. I just don't know.

[–]BoreDominated 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Professional help shouldn't be something to fear though, it might be good for her to talk to a counsellor. There are things she might feel comfortable telling a stranger which she doesn't want to tell you, even adults are like that sometimes. Don't be worried, as long as she knows you love her and are there for her, and that the counsellor isn't gonna send her away or something, she should be fine.

[–]Argama1985 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The fear isn't professional help. The fear is that the problem is so bad as to need professional help.

[–]BoreDominated 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Sure, but if she's experienced abuse that severe, she probably already needs professional help. No point in fearing the problem, address it.

[–]Argama1985 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Again, I feel like you are missing the point. it's not the problem they fear, but the severity. Nobody wants the results of the abuse that little girl went through to be as bad as it is. They are hoping the situation is salvageable.

[–]thispersona2 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There should be professional help through social services already wtf. Get that girl and your family resources to deal withthis. Christ, whose in charge.

I lived this. I truly love you random stranger. I hope the best for you and the child. Fuck God.

[–]outlawa 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have in-laws like that (the wife's two sisters). And oh do I not like those fuckers. They think that a belt or a beating is the answer to everything. And when the wife and I had our kid we would butt heads all the time over how to handle situations with our child. And we still do from time to time.
In the last argument we had over discipline I simply told her that I'm not beating my kid because that shit doesn't work. And I explained when the beatings become the norm just what do you escalate to after that? And my proof sits with her sisters and their kids.

I’m reading the selfish gene by Richard Dawkins and the idea that brutalizing the child was selected for genetically is pretty normal as long as they thought they wouldn’t get penalized/found out, as long as the child isn’t related.

What’s weird is when it’s the mothers child. I guess culture can bastardize even genetic considerations

[–]MGEH1988 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

The unfortunate part is that a lot of time people don’t get consequences until it ends up like this. They won’t get them from their parents, they won’t get them from school (a lot of the times schools just want whatever happens to be over with and forgotten), they will get a slap on the wrist for crimes they commit (even as they are getting worse). Then one day, when they have learned that they get away with stuff and people believe their completely unrealistic stories, they commit a heinous crime and finally get a consequence that matches the action. However, society has been teaching them that they can just do what they want because they will most likely get away with it.

[–]zdul 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Is it a fault of those that govern society or those responsible for the child's upbringing? Perhaps culture has a role to play in this. I would argue certain cultures enable a behavior which resolve in the response we see in this video.

[–]Pineapple_Spenstar 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There's two very simple things that dramatically reduce the likelihood of a person committing a violent crime in their life. Being raised in a home with both a mother and a father reduces the probability by almost 90%, and practicing religion reduces the probability by about 60%. When combined, the probability of a child committing a violent crime in their life is near 0

I dont believe that for a second

[–]MGEH1988 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, it could be anything, if you aren’t molded in your formative years. People are not born with right or wrong. They weren’t taught right or wrong or they had a parent or guardian who never taught boundaries and would do things that might cross a child’s boundaries but the child just gets used to it (and thinks it is okay to do to others). So, if they never learned right from wrong and also mostly likely neglected as a baby (which disrupts the learning of emotions and behaviours a person needs to create connections), they are missing the fundamental building blocks of a functioning, “normal” human being.

Kids will usually look at things like “what’s in it for me” but if that is continued into ages above 6 (in an extreme way), they will be focused on how to lie and get away with things. Then every situation is a learning opportunity, how do I read the emotions on a face? How do I use those emotions to my advantage? What happens when i lie, steal, etc.

When you have the important figure in your life, the authority, make excuses, lie with you, sweep it under the rug, slap on the wrist, not give a shit, this person doesn’t have a chance to learn a lesson about their behaviour (that they should have learned with their parents). The key is intervention. When a child continuously does wrong, or as they get older, illegal thing, you know something is wrong and that’s when you should make or arrange an intervention.

Now, this logic isn’t foul proof. The kid could turn out that way even if they had good parents, they may get consequences that are too harsh and so they never learn and just survive, they may have had a mind altering concussion or accident that affected the brain, etc. etc. There are always the odd cases. But pattern shows that when parents and authority figures around a person, fail to teach or intervene when they notice the small to large things that aren’t right, will turn out to be disastrous for themselves and for many others.

[–]Moralxsupport -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The fault always lies with the MURDERER in cases like these. No room for speculation, or interpretation.

[–]MGEH1988 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Their actions are their responsibility, without a doubt. But people don’t kill because they are functioning members of society. They often were neglected or abused and were not taught boundaries or how to make connections. It is important to know these things in order to be able to intervene when we do see others who have these issues, so we can stop a potentially fatal situation. When we don’t, that’s how we fail.

[–]Damianos_X -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

This framing, that the white man must've "lost his mind" but a black perpetrator is always willful, deliberate, and savage is a racist trope deliberately formulated to justify disparities in the way we treat white vs black offenders.

[–]WryProfessor 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

[–]WryProfessor 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Fixating on one's own agenda is exactly what you've been doing.

You're the one who brought up the subject of your belief in the presumption of motivation due to race in the minds of othes. Despite the counterpoints from other redditors have you continue to harp on it.

[–]Damianos_X 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can you hear yourself? It's like some white people lose all sense of perspective and logic when it comes to race. Please just study history and the origin of whiteness and you'll see what I'm talking about. The points of woefully underinformed people don't count as legitimate or convincing arguments. Most of the people here are arguing from a place of defensiveness, of fear of recognizing the truth about racial dynamics and their inherent corruption. They take it personally instead of genuinely interrogating their conscience and the actual breadth of their understanding. You can never understand the reality if every conversation about race that challenges your current understanding threatens your ego so much rational faculties stop functioning properly.

Race has been and remains a problem in America primarily because white people refuse to address it at its root.

[–]CuriousCamels 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah it’s not that much different. Unless they are segregated, the other inmates will know exactly what they did within a day or two. As soon as a new person enters the “pod”, people will question them, and someone will ask over a phone call to look up their cases. Especially if the person is suspicious. I saw it happen to a couple pedos, and things don’t go well for them after that. You have nothing but time, and there is plenty of vigilante justice.

[–]matrixislife 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah, this was a response. You can tell because it's under the original comment.

[–]420Grim420 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Are you just not paying attention to the world right now? You know there is racial backlash everytime a white person does something to a black person.. right? You know there are entire organizations and movements built around the idea that black people get unfairly sentenced, right? Are you just choosing to be ignorant? It really seems like it.

[+]Damianos_X -9 points-8 points-7 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Because they are unfairly sentenced? Are you delusional? Do you know the system this country was built on and still operates by?

[–]420Grim420 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Well, you seem to have missed the entire point of what I said... which was that it is a known issue that instances like this are highly scrutinized due to the racial implications. Thanks for helping prove my point to the person I was actually responding to. Thanks.

[–]Damianos_X -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You are apparently implying that this increased scrutiny is somehow undeserved or hysterical, when black people continue to be victims of racism in this country and have been for centuries. White people are not the victims of racism in this country, they are the perpetrators. Of course, to conceal this, many of them constantly gaslight and blameshift to obscure the truth. You seem to be doing your part here

[–]420Grim420 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

You are so off base it's not even funny.

I was not apparently implying that anything was undeserved or hysterical, I just mentioned how there are organizations because this is a situation that comes up a lot. So get off your high horse. See how you just got all uppity because you didn't understand what I said? Do you see how your assumptions were very, very wrong? Do you see how you read "racism" when there was none? Is it possible that at leaset some of the perceived racism in this country is not actually racism? Yeah, it's very possible. Will you ever admit that? Nope. You won't.

Side note, white people absolutely can be the victims of racism in this country, as says the definition of racism. Of course, to conceal this, you seem to be blameshifting the truth so that you can be racist to white people, and that it's painfully obvious that you are doing that. So, really, all you've done here is project. You projected your shitty racist feelings onto others, and you certainly seem to be doing your part here to ensure that a racist rift is always present in our world.

If CoViD and Trump have taught us anything, it is that people are dumb fucks (using bleach and ice?). Having kids is a full-time job and any mother/parent should hit the books before the kid even arrives. Given the state of affairs in the US, from water quality, poor diets, to poverty, if you have have not risen out of your circumstances before having kids, then don't.

[–]afoz345 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What the fuck does Trump have to do with this? Are you really that daft that you can only bring up Trump? He lost, it’s over. Get on with your life. Not every bad thing in the world is Trump’s fault.

[+]mhermanos -21 points-20 points-19 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

You need to learn to read...can't help you there mate. What was unclear in my statement that Trump outed the bottomless depth of stupidity and ignorance that permeates the US? Like, do I have to write a whole thesis for you? Are you blind or too lazy to extrapolate from the daily news?

I'm an immigrant who attended public school, even then the ignorance in my schoolmates was evident. But damn, all these years later it is eye opening how stupid people are. Reddit bucks the trend, but idiot posts are often the source of great discussion.

This woman left her kid with morons and the girl paid the price.

Also, why are you telling me that Trump lost as if I'm sour about it? Don't bother answering, yer blocked.

Ok man. Dig those heels in deeper to an asinine statement. Again, two girls beating a child to death has absolutely fuck all to do with Trump and his supporters.

I mentioned Trump lost because you seem to think he’s still in office so you can bring him up whenever you can. Hurr durr Trump bad. We get it. He sucks. He’s gone now so you need to find another person in charge to blame shit on.

I’m not even going to touch on the fact you think the mother picking bad babysitters paying the price is a justifiable statement as if that doesn’t make you just as ignorant.

Blocked or not, you are a moron. Good luck finding girls to let you eat their pussy. Fucking incel.

I'm on mobile and it played no problem and no ads. Get you some ad block.

[–]cookiemixers -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No dude, there’s a problem with the video. Some of us are getting spammed with ads when we try and watch it.

[–]MortyYouPieceOfShit 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't make it click bait. And being on mobile isn't the issue either as others have said, since I've never used reddit on anything other than my phone, and I was able to watch it perfectly fine.

[+]cookiemixers -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Well good for you. Doesn’t work for some of the rest of us and a bunch of ads is click bait. If you don’t agree fine but just because it’s ok for you doesn’t mean it’s ok for everyone else.

[–]MortyYouPieceOfShit 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Thats NOT what click bait is. At all. Just because you made up your own definition for the term, doesn't make it correct. The video shows exactly what the title says. Therefore, not click bait.

[–]cookiemixers 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The video does not show exactly what the title is for some people. Jesus Christ, don’t you have anything better to do that try and correct people? It’s not wrong to use the term when for me it was click bait and the video did not work. Seriously please don’t reply again. I can’t believe I’ve already wasted this much time arguing with someone with shit in their name.

[–]MortyYouPieceOfShit 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol you're just wrong and trying to double down on it. Its not a relative term. It either is, or isn't. The ads have nothing to do with the content of the video to which this post is about. And ill reply to whatever the fuck I want to, thank you. Crazy how the internet works, right?

[–]NorcoXO 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Dude, you’re using the word clickbait wrong. Period. End of story. Like he said keep using your random definition that you literally just made up but words don’t work that way.

[–]cookiemixers 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope. I’m actually exactly right. The video did not work for ME so for ME it was the definition of click bait. I wanted to watch an enticing video and guess what, I got spam ads. Some people experienced issues with the video and some didn’t.

[–]cookiemixers 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This was click bait for me. The video didn’t work and I got spam ads.

I honestly do not understand how you guys watch this enjoyment. I feel so bad for both families man, the family of the murderers and the family of the victim. just tragic.

[–]BBQ4life 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably cause the victims family has gotten justice for their loss. The two girls got life in prison, which honestly will be better than what they deserved. They will get fed 3 times a day, will have cable tv, free health care and room and board.

More than what they gave the little girl.
