This is always why I immediately debate people on the shit about "I am a feminist so I am wanting things to be equal", because:

Like seriously, exactly because of the wording itself, it doesn't imply "equality", it implies "females > everyone else", because the term ITSELF is called "FEMInism", where the "FEMI" part literally means "female, woman, the gender with a pussy". It is irrefutable that this does NOT imply equality. If they were really wanting equality, they'd call themselves "egalitarian", because THAT, and only that, implies that things are supposed to be equal, not one side/gender over another. The entire word "feminist/feminism" itself will, as evident, make many many people believe (and thus also do exactly that) that it is "females > everyone else".

Moral of the story, if you want equality, don't ever use the word "feminist/feminism", ever. Period.

Feminism can be so dumb. At its core I agree with it. I believe in equality. But I just hate how women wanna act like the victim all the time and how it's so much worse. I understand there's things about being a woman that's not ideal. But I never hear anyone talk about the ways it's so much worse being a man. Men are more likely to die at work, while driving, or in war. We lose our kids in custody battles. We are expected to pay for everything and support our spouses and family. We have higher suicide rates. Women act like the entire wouldn't fall apart without men. They don't see our true value. They don't appreciate us. Very rarely do your see women out there in combat. When's the last time you saw a women up on the power lines working? How many women you see laying hot asphalt in the middle of the summer? They work more comfortable and safe jobs. We work the hardest, dirtiest, most dangerous jobs so the rest us don't have to deal with it. And I think that's what irks me about feminism. Total lack of appreciation for men and what they do

This blows my mind in general. I’m a gay man, so gender equality isn’t even assumed - it’s absolute.

If someone even tries to buy me a drink, it’s embarrassing and involves quite a bit of argument. A guy I knew that was a doctor several levels up the chain from me paying for dinner himself even involved at least 4 rounds of argument before I conceded only because he insisted it was his treat this once and I knew that he made more than I did by a large margin. I was ready and willing to pay my part though. In fact I’d been keeping a mental tally of costs from the moment we got there to make sure I knew what I needed to swap into my debit card for it.

Usually, us gay guys satiate each others’ desire to pay by just taking turns on the round of drinks or each outing. But we always either know to pay half or pre-arrange if one will be paying (end of month or whatever) and make it up to each other later.

I live in a gender equal dating world. That is what it should look like.
